The NPP has presented a document which they claim, contains over 76,000 names of Togolease nationals on Ghana's Electoral Register. They say, therefore, Ghana's Voter's Register has been compromised and that, there is the need to compile a new one. Presumably, it is the Electoral Commission that has to respond to the NPP accusation. Why then are Ndc spokespersons throwing tantrums over this simple matter.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Koku Anyidoho have made the case for a new voters register themselves, and most importantly, they have exposed the illegitimacy of the Presidency of John Dramani Mahama from the compromised and discredited voters register of 2012, which unbelievably, they expect Ghanaians and the world to accept it's use in the 2016 elections and beyond. That is most puzzling and shows a certain mindset that is way out of the mainstream of logicality.
Clearly, there is something fundamentally wrong somewhere with that kind of thinking and it is very dangerous.
The evidence so far available, shows this assertion as stated by Koku Anhidoho, that NPP will bloat a new voters register should the EC open a new one is not backed by the facts. It is as ridiculous as it is infantile. It is a flawed position at best, and most certainly, illogical at worst.
The astronomical number of over a whooping 70,000 voters, uncovered from just one region alone and from just 6 constituencies, which interestingly, also happens to be in the NDC electoral stronghold, does not mean the NPP is going to bloat a new register should a new one to compiled, which will address such concerns with such a new voters register.
The NPP as a party believes in the highest standards of conduct in our electoral processes and procedures, and it is in furtherance of this high standards, they have always insisted Ghana needs and gets a new, credible voters register, to ensure free, fair, credible and transparent elections in this country.
The idea that NPP will bloat a new voters register is very absolutely moot, and the NDC party bloating the voters register which evidence is now in the public domain, actually makes the case for a new, uncompromised, credible voters register much more pressing and valid than ever before.
The EC should therefore ensure Ghana gets a new, credible, uncompromised voters register, timeously, for the 2016 elections, and subsequent elections after that.
The NDC bloated and discredited, compromised voters register cannot and will not have any place in our elections going forward in 2016 and beyond.
Ghana must and should and will have a new credible voters register. The alternative is, there is absolutely no alternative. Ghana needs a new voters register and now.

Running up to the last general election, there were series of strikes which braced the Ghanaian populace followed by the election petition which brought the country to a grinding halt in all aspect of economic activities. That was a phase. There is an ongoing Medical Doctors strike with a solution far from sight. Now there is a call for a New Voters Register. Just who owns Ghana! If the country/government can not negotiate with the Doctors to return to work with a reason of staying within budget discipline, is the country resourced to organise a New Voters Register? There is simply no need for this as I view it a war drum and threatening as I listened to one John Boadu of NPP. Can we for once be reasonable to know that Ghana belongs to all Ghanaians and not any political party or any superior Ghanaian/individual? I can see this as a testing time for the EC's Authority as they have better things to do. Ghanaians are too clever to just succumb to this sort of calls. I am tempted to say the best is not NPP and certainly the best does not come from NPP. We need to function as we do not want to be embroiled in another phase.

A computer program can compare Age,Nationality,photo and fingerprints to clean and remove all duplicates. Why is this a problem? I think the DIRT of NDC is afraid of clean water.

The registry should be updated.It just makes logical sense.You have to have all age eligible voters properly identified and accounted for.And anyone who has passed away to be taken of the list.This is how it is done in Canada ...
