As 2016 election approaches, how many such gifts is he going to present to churches across the country ?

Why are Ghanaians silent on an issue which affects their pocket books ? My suspicion is that this guy has started stealing d peoples'
money to win an election so he can continue to stay in power. He is not a real christian and d people of Ghana should stand up and call him on this hypocrisy.

It was shown in their negotiation with the doctors. They allocate themselves privileges and when the doctors asked for they same, they are told that is too much, we cant afford. They send the media and they can use cutleries the journalist are no 'big shot' enough to use. They create a middle class for themselves and no one else can be closer to them. Ghanaians have a knack of treating politicians and those in authority as demi-gods. So why fault them for lording over their hapless Ghanaians. Journalists should be partly blame for that accident with the inexperienced driver taking the chunk of the blame,.The journalists should know that 15 passenger van is not meant for 20 passengers and seat belts is very important,if that guy was wearing seat belt he would not have be thrown out of the vehicle and die,when we talk about seat belts people should know that it is not for fun,it is for safety.

As for that driver I wonder how he got that job in the first place,drivers should know that the most dangerous thing to do when they have their tires burst or have flat tire is to slam on the brakes,you rather control the vehicle up until it comes to a stop,if you slam on the brakes the car at that speed the car will definitely rollover.

In this 21st century couldn't the journalists - print, radio and television, file whatever stories from location but had to rush back to Accra? The poor driver was probably being urged on by the reporters to speed to get to Accra in no time.

Much as we sympathize with the victims and their families for the unfortunate accident, we should also blame the media houses for not providing transport for their staff. The presidential staffer was right when he allegedly said these pressmen are not Presidential staff. Is it not the duty of the various media houses to provide transportation and other logistics for their staff? The fact that one reports from the presidency doesn't mean that it is that office that should provide logistics and other things for such a person. media houses should provide what their staff need to work with and that include transport. By the way can't those reporters file their stories at Ho in this era of technology and advancement? What prevents then from transmitting their stories at Ho to Accra instead of rushing to Accra? I believe that media houses should provide their own transport for their staff instead of relying on the agency they are covering. This can lead to compromise and "being bought" as it were. Let us do things right and stop always pointing fingures at others.

3. what prevents their CEOs from placing at their disposal 4WDs to go round gather reports for the press houses? Just check and see whether the CEO/MD/Board Chair of Ghanaian Times does not ride in a 4WD while the reporters ride trosky.

For security reasons, a media house needs to assign a reporter to the presidency if they wish to get easy access.

You failed to respond to the point that CEOs/MDs of media houses ride in 4WDs which they can also place at the disposal of their reporters if they think well of them.
I don't think you ever worked in the media, else you will not say that they do not need presidential stories to sell their media. Who wouldn't wish to report on the president? Whatever the prez does official or private is NEWS!

I find this death sooo painful and so unnecessary. The news crew need its own bus,brand new, and reliable experienced drivers. And will you stop asking them to bring their own silverware, as if they are carriers of ebola.and also do not try to blame any driver for the accident. Dr . Boama and his cohorts are to be blamed for their incompetence.
Listen to me their bus should have restroom facility and of course equipped with air condition.And will you stop talking down to them that they are not presidential staff. We trust their reporting more than you the hangers on for crumbs so called presidential staff.

2. Should the presidency be feeding journalists daily at the flagstaff house on which budget? Can't they take their packed lunch/snack along with them and eat when they have a break?

Dr. Boama and his cohorts are govt employees, the reporters are not. GJA could also provide a luxurious bus for reporters to use just as some other professional associations cater for their membership. IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GOVT!!!!

Such a tragic waste of a promising life.

In fact, one person even told me that I was wearing seat belts as a show off to attract girls. The dead guy would not have been thrown off the truck had he worn his seat belts. I am sure the vehicle was not even equipped with one, but journalists who should know better, sat in the crap anyway.

The President gave the assurance that the government would ensure that the victims received ‘proper’ medical care.Dr Omane Boamah personally telephoned Samuel Nuamah’s wife, Lillian, who is domiciled in the United States to console her on the unfortunate loss and promised her of government’s support. These two statements and the government's inclination of promising support are the reasons Ghanaians' have sense of entitlement. It isn't the government's responsibility to support the widow of the deceased journalist simply for being part of the presidential press corps.
