The death of the journalist is very sad and regrettable but avoidable. I put the blame squarely on the doorstep of the entire journalists on board the vehicle. They said the driver was over-speeding and was driving carelessly yet they kept mute and put their lives at risk. Why didn't they, as they claim to be very educated, bring the driver to order. They must bow their heads in shame and use this as a lesson for future protection.

The guy died as a result of not wearing seatbelt,he was thrown out of the vehicle and may have been run over by the bus,as journalists they should have known better, campaign for seatbelt is not a joke,it is serious,it serves lives.
They need also to teach these drivers what to do when they get flat tire,it is very simple, you don't have to panic, just take off your foot from the pedal and control the vehicle up until it comes to stop, slamming on the brakes was the problem.
The vehicle was not the problem but the driver, even if it was a worn out tire that was just part of the problem but overloading it can also put too much pressure on the tire, this is not about whether a vehicle has roadworthy certificate or not, that certificate is just a mere paper that has nothing to do with maintenance, you can get that certificate today but if you don't maintain the vehicle tomorrow it will have the certificate but still not function, everybody on that vehicle was part of the problem, the backwardness and ignorance of our journalists was part of the problem.
As journalists if you see somebody doing the wrong thing you report to the police but to say the guy was speeding putting your lives in danger but you couldn't report him to the police who are all over the place up until he threw you into the bush is just senseless, even I report careless drivers on the road to police if I see them doing dangerous or reckless driving.

What I do not understand is this. Why should the state pay for journalists to travel to cover the president's assignments and for that matter any assignment.. It should be press houses responsibility to provide transportation for their own journalists. You cannot run press establishment on freebies. That is why these journalists are easily rented.

By the way,I live in America,I have nothing to do with what they do in Flagstaff House,I'm just telling the truth, sharing my knowledge of what happened talking from experience which you don't have.
There is nowhere I even defended the government and I don't know Dogbe,I have not even seen him or met him before,I don't know if he is a short man or a tall man.

What the hell were the journalists thinking and accepting to ride in a rickety bus. secondly they claim the bus was speeding yet they allowed themselves to be sent to the slaughter. I bet you some were enjoying the speed and kept quiet.
My dear journalists you are now crying foul and shouting about conditions of service. Direct those requests to your employers who pay some of you a pittance yet you were very vociferous in batting for the doctors during the recent strike.
I repeat sadly nothing will come out of it

GMC SAVANNAH is a luxury van as compare to many of those vans and buses on the roads in Ghana, there are only very few in Ghana, the accident was largely about the driver and the occupants of the vehicle couple with the speed tradition that follows those presidential or official convoys that goes without regards to the laws of the country, the guy was following the protocol he knows of speeding in those convoys,he was following the vehicle ahead of him to catch up with the convoy, blame everybody, the speeding culture by government officials must stop,it is backward.

I am at a loss that journalists covering activities of the president of the Republic of Ghana do not have a press bus or buses attached to them. To the extent that a bus must be hired to convey them to a national assignment. This is shameful. Does the State Protocol Department (SPD) not have a pool of vehicles which include buses large enough to convey between 20 and 30 pressmen with their gadgets to national assignments? Would whoever hired that bus travel on such a bus? If important dignitaries visit the country, will they be put on such vehicles? If not SPD vehicles fueled at the expense of the Ghanaian tax payer! Whoever arranged or hired the bus must bow down his or her head in shame and resign from his or her position.
