It must be confronted with heavy handedness and brutality or else it will take roots in the country and will be difficult to uproot. Nigerian government did not take "Boko Haram" seriously when the organization first started and now the whole nation is paying a price and has become very difficult to defeat it. Since Osama bin Ladin was sought out and killed at his hide out by the USA, al queda has dissipated to the barest minimum. They are almost unheard of. They are unable to regroup. In christianity, we call God "father" and relate to him as such, in islam, Allah is not a father.
In christianity, we are assured of forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus, but in islam, it is only at the judgement day that they will find out whether they are forgiven or not. In christianty, Jesus says "love even your enemies, pray for those who hate you, if you love only those who love you, what reward do you have in heaven" but in islam, it says "if you meet an infidel, slit his throat if he doesn't convert to islam". In christianity, God is all powerful and doesn't need man to fight for him, but in islam, allah can't fight his own battles so he depends on human beings to fight his battles and die for him. In christianity, you don't have to kill to go to heaven but in islam, killing an infidel is a way of pleasing allah. I can go on and on about why christianity is and will always be a better religion than islam. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the father except by me."
Even the koran says that Jesus is alive and will come again just as the bible says. So why are people still in islam?

myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense,
since the audience was obviously not under attack
at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this
verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was
actually trying to motivate his people into raiding
merchant caravans for loot.

punish them with terrible agony in this world and
in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to
help."
Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage
war against Allah and His messenger and strive to
make mischief in the land is only this, that they
should be murdered or crucified or their hands
and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or
they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a
disgrace for them in this world, and in the
hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"
