Even though, to me, you are the best local coach Ghana has ever produced, and may your soul rest in peace, i respectfully disagree with him, that only a black coach can win the elusive trophy for Ghana again

"do it your self" was the philosophy at that time. Relying on foreigners to do things for us is not the way to go. Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, etc, we have produced some of the best talents in the game, so if we can't turn any of them into an excellent coach like Nkrumah did with C.K Gyamfi, then there is something wrong. Nyantakyi is throwing dust into your eyes, if he is qualified for such high post, how can he tell us that none of our brothers, fathers, uncles is qualified to coach the Black Stars?

venture a black man, we are likely not to even get last in a competition, let be with the foreign coaches with good records to help do better jobs for us

At least Avram Grant went all the way to the finals and a good team like Ivory coast kicked us out so that was understandable. Winning Afcon is not about skin colour.

Look, we.can bring in mourinho or whoever. We need a Blackman to coach gbstar before we can win a trophy. Look at germany, brasil,.spain, egypt and all wcup and continental trophy winners. Those with native coaches have won the most trophies.

Native coaches? The game is developed in the countries you mentioned to the extent that the infrastructure laid out for the development of coaches is superb. Cannot compare coaching facilities with Germany, Brazil or Spain.

We are doing well in the game mostly because we are naturally talented. All we may need is the extra push to bring out the best in our talented boys and girls. We lack that.

Ghana has lost one of its great, if not the greatest, footballer. I join all those who have paid tribute to this great individual, and I do hope that our Government will give him a befitting recognition: a state funeral, followed later by a permanent memorial. Most people knew or remember CK, as he was affectionately known, as a footballer and coach. I was privileged to have met and known him as an individual. I was a UN staff member in Mogadishu in the early 1980s when CK was coaching Somali under-21 national team. He was so successful that the Somali authorities insisted that he should take over the national team. There were a few other Ghanaian UN employees in Mogadishu at the time. The more I got to know him the more I liked him. CK was humble and unassuming. He had no airs about him. He did not let fame get into his head. Whenever he came to my house he would say something like, "Chief, you already my favourite." He loved his drop of gin and tonic, which we would sip slowly and he would recount to us episodes in Ghana football. He was a great storyteller, helped in no small measure by his tremendous sense of humour. He loved to dance and never missed an opportunity to display his exquisite "high life" steps. What impressed me most about CK was that he did not let fame destroy him as a simple individual.

CK apart from being a great coach has made a statement which has very great weight indeed! He was the best and great coach becos of very important factors:1. He was a great footballer himself! 2. Kwame Nkrumah made sure he had the best exposure in the coaching business viz CK was sent on a number of training seminars and courses to keep him abrest with the coaching business! 3. CK knew what he was about and was very good at managing the egos etc of his various squads. He communicated with his players and really coached and gave them tips an d directives to help them improve their game and talent. He was open to discussions and criticisms! 4.CK was a very amiable person and so had great interactions both personal and official! Not this "silent killer" and "I'll show you where power lies" attitude of most of our present day local trainers! 5. CK had the luck of having managed PATROITIC AND DEDICATED AND HIGH PROFILE PLAYERS, ON TOP OF THEIR TALENT AND ABILITY!!!6. CK was simply the best!!!
