  Our chiefs have lost their power to inspire the people as the people think the chiefs are no more relevant. Our culture as Ghanaians had allowed us to respect the dead and made us to know the dead were part of the living. Christianity made us to be lazy cowards and fear the dead.
  Growing up in Keta, all burying grounds were very clean, and that was then when the only churches were the catholic,presby and AME zion.
  Christianity has brought filth, laziness into our lives as we believe without a sweat, the lord will provide with a "strong" prayer based on faith?

  The only solution is SANKOFA. A good dose of traditional education which is the only way to get our morals and high level of ethics back to society.

  No amount of christianity is going to bring them back but rather it's going to get worst with christianity.
  Pastors everyday wonder why morals has gone so down to the dogs, but what they have forgotten to realize is the church is the culprit as we live in an environment that has it's own reality while we forced ourselves to live a different reality. Sacred land and waterways and taboos were no longer respected but rather got spit on as we think we've arrived in a "modern"era?
  
  If a very modern Japan still values their sacred lands and water ways and observe some taboos, then how come Ghana knows so much but still remain so much lost?

  Religion is stupid and has enslaved the masses in foolishness. People still believe in heaven , hell, Angels, devil and God in spite of all the advance scientific discoveries of the century.

  Ghanaians are just uncivilized when it comes to burying the dead.I came to bury my mother and to my dismay we literally had to hack through a forest to bury her.What makes the situation more unacceptable is that we paid burial fee to the town council before we were issued with a burial certificate.And what are the chiefs and the District and Munuicipal councils doing?This is a total disgrace to Ghana.There is no need for elaborate,expensive funerals if the dead are finally laid to rest in 'forests'.
