I am one who is all for promoting our culture and traditions but we must observe international protocol standards when we find ourselves in situations which demand that the right thing is done.

As the matter stands, it is not what pleases Mahama to wear, that he wears. He must at all times present and conduct himself in public in a style and manner that will promote and enhance the image of the country and the people he represents.

Even if it is alright for Mahama to wear that batakari, why did he choose this clumsy looking type which appears to make him look awkward in it? It looks like a big over-sized and badly sewn kaba-shirt. It does not suit him at all. There are many other kinds of batakari that can make a man look elegant and resplendent so why this one? If all his advisers are useless, can his wife also not tell him what looks better on him? I know from casual observation that Mahama prefers to look casual but quite often this attitude of his conflicts with all accepted norms of protocol which are related to the position he holds.

And by the way, in photo number 11, is the gentleman (I dare use that description) standing behind Mahama the avid rapist who only a few days ago, also violently assaulted and smashed a journalists equipment? Do we still have the Dept of State Protocol in this country? Dont they know that allowing that boy to hang around a visiting foreign President presents a security risk?

The broom is Buhari's political party symbol which signifies their intent to sweep out corruption and backward politics. Quite ironic they had it out during our charged political season, but it had nothing to do with Mahama.
