  VRA etc, you guys know perfectly well that you are ALL SPINELESS when it comes to DEBT COLLECTION, and this rather is the BANE of your existence. You are clueless on how to tackle government (largest debtor) and others in the private sector who get protection from government, for unpaid service rendered. You can't continue to throw DUST in our eyes and think we aren't smart enough to wash same dust off with common PURE WATER! Shane on you for SETTLING FOR MEDIOCRITY. Where are your collective BALLS?? If there was an iota of PATRIOTISM in your system, you would COLLECTIVELY draw plans for ACTIVE RETRIEVAL of these GARGANTUAN debts instead of PASSING THE BUCK to ghanaians.

  1 GHc per kW would be one of the highest tariffs in the whole world. Why can't they stop government & friends from stealing power as they never pay first?

Of you want really want to be debt free, cut down expenses in the form of salary reduction of about 35% and you'll see your gains.. Stop increasing tariffs cos we're already killing us... Aaaba

  Is happen to me,and is something which is going on in tghe system,in 2008 I paid my electricity bill,just before the prepaid meter,and requested for a prepaid meter,just for me to be told in a year later,I have an outstanding bill,i followed up,produce the old bill,and it wasn`t registered,again I was informed i still have an outstanding bill after 2 years by then the receipt was lost,and they got me,meaning monies been paid aren`t registered,ends up in someone`s pocket,and monies which have to slove the problem we facing isn`t there. My opionion is ECG can increase teriffes us they want,if they aren`t cleaning the corrupt in the system,noway ECG can provide electricity for the nation as a whole,we will countiune with dusor forever. Amen

  The report indicates that due to the low level of the Akosombo dam, VRA purchases more oil and gas to power it's thermal plants. The reporter expected you to understand this if you call yourself a qualified technician.

  If the inept gov't is not managing the economy well leading to the depreciation of the currency and the attendant loss of businesses, employment and productivity from the collapsed energy sector, how does that translate to Ghanaians by some magic being able to afford increases in tariffs? Does it make any sense? That is why even lunatics are challenging President John Mahama for his seat.
  Besides what is the contribution of hydro-power to our current energy portfolio as compared to thermal(gas&oil)? With oil and gas prices sinking to their lowest and projected to stay lower for a very long time, that should offset any cost that should arise from hydropower generation to even trigger a further decrease in utility tariffs and not the increase being proposed.
  Ghanaians should be paying much, much lower tariffs than what they are currently paying and not an increased tariff.

  There are a lot of employees within VRA who are not involved in energy production. Those employees or departments must be restructured..
