  I agree with with Mr Okoh on the government reviewing the law on dual citizenship. But why should we give Oko credit for renouncing his US citizenship? He will be of no use to the US if he went back to the US now. He just realized he can make more money in Ghanaian politics than going back to find a new job in the US.

  Everyone in Ghana knows why people take westerners citizenship. Mot because people don't love their home but rather they take that risk to be able to gain something good and bring it to the motherland. If not because pf this hustling like by now Ghana will be looking like a ghost town. Thanks to The Almighty Allah hustling turned the poor families to reach and we the poors too contribute in the society. So dual ia the best solution.

  This is something the Constitution Review Commission should consider deliberating on. Most fellow Ghanaians who have other nationalities apart from Ghana's do so as a matter of convenience. Lest we forget; without their status in other foreign countries, they may not have been able to enjoy the benefits and be in the position to remit/transfer millions of hard-earned foreign currency to support families and by the extension our economy.

  You can be a citizen of any other country and still hold your Ghanaian citizenship. Dr, Vanderpuige held an Americal Citizenship in addition to his Ghanaian citizenship and the law permits that.The Law however does not allow Dual Citizen holders to hold certain positions. You cannot be an MP, President of the Republic, Minister of State, etc, etc. Dr Alfred Okoh Vanderpuige only renounced his American Citizenship because he is aspiring to be an MP. Therefore the Law exists.
