  At worst, the judge received an undisclosed gift. I cannot see the evidence of inducement to free the thug who by all accounts was going to be let off anyway.
  I sense a certain desperation here, to throw mud and let it stick.

  Naatse, read and think again. Yes by all accounts and mainly for lack of prosecution, the man was going to be freed. That is not the issue. The issue is the action of the judge. By discussing the case and accepting the supposed gift, he becomes tainted. Regardless of the the outcome of the case, it is seen as bribery in any part of the world. The judge would be impeached anywhere just by his actions.

  THE IRONY IS THAT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THOSE PALTRY MONIES THEY OBTAINED, SOMETIMES IN BITS WAS NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT A ROOF OVER THEIR HEADS ON RETIREMENT AND PAY SCHOOL FEES OF THEIR CHILDREN OR TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEIR SPOUSES.
  
  THEY WERE MOTIVATED BY SHEET GREED TO OIL THEIR UNBRIDLED LIFE STYLES BUT NO MATTER HOW THEY TRY TO MASSAGE THE PROCESS TO WIN SOME RESPECTABILITY, THE ATTEMPTS WILL NOT HELL SINCE AT THE BENCH OF PUBLIC OPINION, THE DIE IS CAST AND THE WHEEL CANNOT BE REINVENTED.
