“You inherited an economy with the highest resources in the history of Ghana. Tax resources, four times higher than the NPP; Cocoa, three times higher; Gold, three times higher; you have borrowed more than all the governments put together and still we can’t feel a better economy, then you have failed. Mahama deserves F in economic management,” Bawumia asserted.

Speaking in an interview with Nsempawura on a Koforidua-based Eastern FM, the former Deputy Governor said for instance, the NDC government inherited a total debt of GHC 9.5 billion in 2009 and has increased it to GHC 90 billion within six years.

By the end of the year, Ghana’s debt will hit about US$ 40 billion looking at the current borrowing trend, he predicted.

With the sum of US$ 40 billion, he said, a good management team will allocate just US$ 2 billion to each region for development but the contrary is happening under the NDC government.

In economic management, every government with such an amount of money should be able to pay nurses, teachers, doctors, NHIS, and take care of all the social intervention programmes in Ghana, Dr. Bawumia analysed.

According to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, President Mahama and the NDC government can best be described as a “toxic mixture of incompetent and corruption which has exploded into ‘Wahala’ and Suffering”.

He feared for the future of the Ghanaian youth under the NDC administration, and challenged the youth to join the NPP to recapture power from the NDC in the 2016 General elections.

The assurance and encouragement is coming too late in my view.This means this government has no priority. The late Prof Mills who happened to be one time boss of the current president used to say that as a country we should deal with urgent needs before we attend to those things required to be done. This is a very important and useful statement coming from a man of wisdom.
If late Prof Mills were to be alive or myself, I will deal with the Energy crisis before any other need like the construction of road, bridge and school.It is those who dont see how critical the supply of power is like Pres Mahama who will consider the issue of power with less attention. Given the opportunity, I can give a volumnous report on Energy in the socio-economic development of the country and any other serious nation.
We know that this problem will be dealt with oneday but the major concern was when. The harm the absence of power or low supply of power has caused to his country cannot be over emphasised.
I am not enthused by this news at all. The President is like a father who used his salary to buy clothes at the expense of the school fees of his children. The children will not forgive that father in the future.
The early stage of governance was for reckless spending which has brought the country to this sad state. Time is very critical in anything we do. The resource which Africans have not managed well compared to the west is time. We have not been managing this very critical resource over the years and for me that is the difference between success and failure.
Presedent Mahama was not prepared to administer this country but those around him pushed him to accept the position after killing Prof Mills.
I am advancing in age and I can no more experiment with the person who decides on the general being of the country.
Nana Addo sounds more serious and ready to take this country because wisdom is in old age so Ghana should embrace him.

Truly, the Atuabo gas project is a significant development in our economy. Massive investments in infrastructural projects by President Mahama will surely give a major boost to the economy. Unfortunately, some will not see this right focus on development projects as a positive sign because of political competition. With unanimity, we hail former President Nkrumah of blessed memory because of his lasting infrastructural projects. After the era of President Mahama, Ghanaians will, with one accord, testify that he has done even more than the legendary Nkrumah by way of roads and flyovers, expansion of harbours and airports, modern schools, modern markets, hospitals, retooling of state institutions etc.

It is on record that NPP discovered oil and started the Atuabo gas project thru a Norwaygian company. Only for the NDC to come and cancel that contract which was only to cost 25% of amt spent and stolen by the NDC on this project.
