The issues being raised by Gabby are legitimate. As it is, it looks like a laissez-faire approach has been adopted in treating this very crucial national matter vacuously with no specific timelines to guide these issues and that cannot be a very positive approach going into the 2016 elections. That "African way" and "that is how it is done" and "that is how I came to meet it" attitude will not work. The adoption of a more pro-active and progressive approach should dictate the functions of the EC.
The issue of time and it's application and management as an intrinsic factor of institutional effectiveness has not been a strong forte of the EC, and this needs to change and going forward, should guide the actions and conduct of the EC.
During the tenure of the Afari-Gyan led EC, planning and time management based off of a working timetable was treated with the utmost contempt and did not exist, and Ghanaians are witnesses to the kind of credibility crisis the EC now finds itself.
The perpetuation and monotony of such conduct under the Charlotte Osei-led EC cannot be the way to go, and whilst looking at reforming our electoral systems, the EC itself as an institution, would need to consider similar such reforms that goes to address the institutional malaise and credibility crisis of the outfit.

There's public suspicion that the EC is helping NDC to cover things up. But this should not be so. Already the NDC is boasting of a successful party's biometric registration. Lets assume that the EC and NDC connive to churn out imaginable numbers? Ghanaians have also been told that our population has mushroomed from 25 to 29 million people in the last 3 years. Doesn't all these figures and EC, IT and NDC biometric issues raise eyebrows? Nobody knows NDC's membership roll as their registration exercise is now over. The EC must come clean! Ghanaians need honest answers.

The 2012 elections was a mess. A difference of 500,000 presidential votes which were more than the parliamentary votes could not be accounted for by the EC and its chairman. Where did they come from? Were they ghosts? And yet they are still on the register. Charlotte should begin her work on a clean sheet. She should not use the existing register. It is not credible and would not give credible results. She should use a fresh, clean register to achieve credible results for herself and the EC.
