  Development anywhere starts with land planning and development. and as I see it there has not been and never will there be a Ghanaian dead or alive who is willing to invest their own private funds to develop a town, city or metropolitan area which will address streets and street addresses of residential and commercial structures, sewage and drainage system, centralized sewage treatment plant(s), water and electricity, telecommunications system infrastructure, zoning and roads and map out plans for public transportation system. In any civilized, industrialized nation infrastructural developments are carried out by the national government with maintenance deferred to local governments. Towns, cities and metropolitan areas in Ghana were not planned but built by anyone who can afford to buy land and build. Even when there is a semblance of documented town/city plans homeowners with money have bribed their way into encroaching on land areas designated for roads with a little or no care for right of way.
  
  My point is that it will take the national government, with all its laws, money and wherewithal to implement and execute a serious land development scheme that can save Ghana from itself. It is currently difficult if not impossible for private entities to insist on worthwhile telecommunications infrastructure with future growth potential because issues of eminent domain will have to come into play and the monopoly of Vodafone Ghana. It is difficult to plan for water, electricity, sewage and drainage system because there are no existing infrastructures. We keep having floods in Ghana because our rain overruns have no path and nowhere to go. So before we yap ourselves into a frenzy, we need to stop demonizing all things government and stop the intellectual chest thumping platform contest where our simple-mined PhD holders get to talk sweet nothings but hot air and get paid for their unrefined ideals and short-sighted ideas.

  IN ACTUAL FACT,WE MUST BE PREPARED TO PLAY A PART IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
  
  OTHERWISE, THE NEXT GENERATION WILL COME TO CONDEMN US.
  
  HISTORY IS ONLY MADE BY BOLD VENTURES AND NOT BY RETREATING IN THE FACE OF DIFFICULTIES.

NONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION HAVE DEMONSTRATED ANY SENSE OF PERSPICACITY IN ANY FIELD TO GIVE CONFIDENCE THAT THEIR VIEW OF THE NEXT 40 YEARS HAS ANY VALIDITY.
