So long as they don't want to adhere to traffic rules speeding all over the place because they are in presidential convoy and above the law,they will alway get involve in accident,presidential convoys supposed to be careful on the road,though they have right of way with the siren on they don't have to be speeding putting everybody's life in danger,shame on them.

When President Mahama busily commissioning completed projects and cutting sods to start a new ones, Nana Binaddo is hiding in his Nima flag staff house selecting who he should work with and who he shouldn't, when President Mahama is busily fighting corruption, Nana Binaddo is protecting the corrupt official inside his Npp party who has stolen $5.million and asking and pleading with his Npp folks not to go and discuss the matter in the Media , what Nana Binaddo and his Npp hiding from Ghanaians? Definitely the President, his cohorts and NDC feel innately very proud of our current distressful situation. How come that it was Western Region NDC communication team that provided the bus for the Presidential Corps? Was the function for NDC or national? Under such circumstance, why won't the press continue to throw dust into our eyes?

TWO serious accidents in a matter of weeks involving newsmen covering the President is a sign that something must change with regards to coverage of so-called presidential activities during an election campaign. Let us leave aside, the question of who considers it "newsworthy" for a school to be opened by a President.
The point is, the presidency wants coverage. But must it be by all the media? What about the presidency issuing the President's speech in advance so that the media can use it, upon being told it has actually been delivered? Pictures too can be supplied by the presidency. Finally, do these publicity-hungry politicians know about the Ghana News Agency? It was to spare the hard=pressed resources of media houses that the Ghana News Agency was founded to provide an efficient (if average) news coverage to all media houses so that they didn't need to go everywhere themselves, when a GNA representative was available there.

Of course, I may be presuming that the journalists "attached" to the presidency and the regional offices of the Government don't like to go on these dangerous and completely unnecessary jaunts. In an era of brown envelopes and freebies, perhaps the journalists count on these jaunts to supplement their meagre earnings. If so, I beg their pardon for presuming to speak on their behalf. But left to me, I'd say, arrange for a ""pool"" coverage of some of tyhese4 events and stop trooping after the big men like sheep led by a whistle-blower.

THE MEDIA HOUSES OWE IT TO THEIR JOURNALISTS TO STOP THEM PUTTING THEIR LIVES AT RISK JUST TO SATISFY OFFICIALS' EGOISTIC LOVE FOR PUBLICITY!

It just isn't necessary in these days of email.
