The Kasapa reporter is mischievous. Their earlier report generated over 100 insults for the man when they knew it was not a truth. In their earlier report, the man made a comment which explained that, never ever has any staff of SADA said guinea fowls had flown to Burkina. It was rather a question asked by a Tamale based reporter on a studio discussing and that to the extend that, the country had adapted it as a SADA statement surprised he too. He also said he made a joke that,it seemed the fowls were returning because he eat some guinea fowls at Bolga when he went there and this same Kasapa, reported it as if he was making a presentation when at that forum everyone was laughing at the joke. Why are we so polarized to the extend that, reporters dont even want to reseach. Why? Did KASAPA report the Tamale issue from hearsay? And this report, is Kasapa being selective on the facts as presented by the man. Is it to discredit the already discredited SADA even if the new man is doing it better? What is the motive. I ask this because, if KASAPA monitored their own reports, they would have even seen his responds long ago and to stop being selective. Lets stop this insults. I made the same mistake of raining insults on the man when this was reported earlier. I have reviewed his tape in Tamale and his responds on the earlier report and feel sad that, this is what our reporters feed us with. Read his responds on the 22nd of Sept: 'SADA guinea fowls are back' – CEO

It is very strange how a simple joke that the audience in Tamale fully got, given how loudly they laughed about it, gets made into a matter of fact. Even more strange is how everybody seems to believe it, starting with the original "SADA guinea fowls have flown to Burkina Faso" story. This too was a joke made by a journalist at an FM studio - not by a SADA staff - which got picked up and widely relayed as a fact.

Only people who do not know enough about the guinea fowl or care to understand or bother to ask questions can take the "guinea fowls have flown to Burkina" story seriously.

First the guinea is not a migratory bird. It cannot fly over long distances, let alone remember where it had come from to return to that place.

Secondly, the guinea fowl cannot fly laterally for more than a few minutes. It tends to fly up the wall and on the branches of shorter trees - more vertically than horizontally. when it descends it does so at an angle and over a short distance.

3rd it does more running than flying.

PUT SIMPLY, THE GUINEA FOLW IS INCAPABLE OF MIGRATING OVER LONG DISTANCES. They cannot fly, singularly or enmass to Burkina Faso from Bolgatanga let alone alone Tamale.

Therefore, anyone who remotely understands the guinea fowl, will recognise what I said, or the original story, as nothing but a joke.

Does anybody care for the truth or even basic understanding? It will help the quality of our journalism, to seek at least knowledge to inform what we write.

SO LET ME REPEAT, I MADE A JOKE. THE AUDIENCE IN TAMALE WHO KNOW MORE ABOUT GUINEA FOLWS LAUGHED. THAT IS IT. Anyone interested in facts can ask any of the district officials form DCEs to NDPC officials what was actually said.

Journalism is a serious profession. I though at GJA once - in 1995 when Kojo Yankah was heading it. We need to take our journalists seriously. Tod do so, they need to earn our respect.

As for SADA, it will thrive and no attempts to ridicule it can stop that. We are open to any journalists who wants to ask serious questions.

So, the joke is on you, Sir! When your outfit made that excuse of ostensible migration of the Guinea Fowls, it wasn't a joke to you, then. Right? Now, you want us to take it as some comic relief.

Our hard earned State funds for Projects are not the type of items you make a joke of. That would establish a certain sense of ineptitude that the Nation would be better served if spared.

So the Guinea fowl eats some dung and finds that it gives him enough energy to get to the first branch. The next day, he eats some more and gets to the next branch. This cycle continues for a week. Finally, the Guinea fowl is at the top of the tree, where he is spotted by the farmer, who shoots him with a shotgun.

Moral of the Story: bullsh*t might take you to the top, but it won't keep you there.
