No wonder Ghana is falling apart. You have a corrupt judiciary in Ghana but you don't want to address the problem. The reason why litigants and people who are charged with crimes go and see judges and other court officials is that the judges and court officials are bribable.

What needs to be done is a constant sting operation to weed out the very bad ones.

The courts clerks get nothing done if they don't get tips, they always want to interact with the public to get "paid", so they show themselves up, portraying themselves as so important. The judges give them 100% support and use them(court clerks) as conduits. Discipline your judges and don't apportion blame to the public. You know that when people have issues, they would be prepared to do anything to win their cases, so if a judge is available to conspire to do that, your guess is as good as mine. Discipline your staff and the judges, please!

When a fish begins to rot, it starts from the head. Court clerks will lead litigants to a judge only when they know that nothing will happen to them if they do so. A good judge should not only refuse to be so influenced but he should also report such a court clerk for administrative disciplinary action. A good judge will also ensure that he causes the arrest and prosecution of the person who came to attempt to bribe him.

Word will quickly go round about the no nonsense attitude of the judges and no one will attempt to bribe them again. I am surprised that Justice Dotse doesn't seem to know this simple truth and he attempts to shift their responsibility to the general public. With judges like him at the top and making policy decisions for the judiciary in Ghana, what hope do we have?

This advise should be addressed to the judges. The learned judge must know that some individuals have make it their business to litigate and for such individuals they will also seek to be at an advantage position through fair or foul means, so it is the duty of judges who know their ethics to avoid contact or discussion of cases before them with either parties alone.

The advice should rather go to the judges and judicial staff. Its the scent of the excreta that draws the housefly. A corrupt and rotten judiciary is a recipe for disaster. The judges know what their ethics specify.
