The Anti-Akan spin doctors led by the Ewes have started as expected: NPP has suspended Afoko because he is a Northner. Going by their own tribal campaign of branding the NPP Akan, who voted for Afoko in the first place? Was it the Ewe NDC? Afoko should be lucky that he has merely been suspended for all the own goals he has been deliberately scoring against the NPP just for his 'brother'Northner to continue to misrule Ghana. He Afoko himself, when his fellow Northner disagreed with him what happened? His brother Gregory poured acid on him and killed him. Paul Afoko cannot say he knows nothing about this. In the NDC in 1996, when Veep Arkaah disagreed with them, Rawlings physically beat him at a Cabinet Meeting. Ewe Rawlings also killed Akan Heads of States and later also tormented President Mills to his death. Nobody in Ghana said that was anti Akan. PV Obeng used all his life ignorantly supporting the Ewe Anti Akan cause. When the NDC lost power in 2000, he was abandoned. He had to seek refuge in Asante Kotoko board membership under Hebert Mensah.Yes, home sweet home. Remember that Rawlings and E.T. Mensah did all they could to sink Kotoko and raise Hearts, something still going on. Good decision by the NPP to suspend Afoko.

I want someone to prove me wrong: that the NPP is being pursued by demons, and those ruthless "gbeshie" spirits are led by Belzibub himself, and they come in camboo shoes so leaders and members of the party do not perceive ominous signals.

Hehehehe, as soon as I saw "rise" in Nana Akufo-Addo's tour theme, I knew it was going to be followed by a "fall". The other day, a friend of mine was referring to Nana's "Rise and Build" tour as R&B (Rice and Beans) tour. I love the malapropism here, and this reminds me of the late Ghanaian actress, Araba Stamp who was popular for his malapropism, "fried rice and kitchen."

Please wait a minute: Agyeeeeei, I saw some interesting scriptures today. Proverbs 20:30 "Blows and wounds scrub away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being." Proverbs 18:6 "The lips of fools bring them strife, and their mouths invite a beating."
Oops! Who just wrote on my screen, LMVCA? I have told you people I don't want trouble oo. Please desist from putting words in my mouth. I never mentioned any name please!

And it happened that Nana's Rice and Bea... eiii, sorry, Rise and Build tour has ended up in a Rise and Fall tour. Why am I saying this? The NPP's woes have deepened after his tour. Chairman Paul Afoko has been suspended indefinitely by the National Executive Committee of the party. There was a display of all-die-be-die antics during the meeting, and the party’s private security, the Invisible Forces burnt a motorbike and destroyed the windscreen of a taxi cab.

Many party activists are angry as a result. An NPP "militant" group Bolgatanga Bull Dogs (BBD) in a press release has threatened to scuttle the electoral fortunes of the NPP in 2016 because of the suspension of their National Chairman.

What even makes the issue more serious is that some party Stalwarts have started baring their teeth, and Andrew Awuni, a former Press Secretary to former President Kufour is one of them. He spoke on Neat FM some hours after the suspension. Hear him:

"Between the last two elections, an amount of over 100 million dollars has been disbursed into the party's coffers.Where did all this money go? Adakabre, what is going on is all about the control of the party's finances and useless worshipping of a human being. Recently, 3 million Ghana Cedis was released to the party. Kwabena gave each constituency an amount of GHC10,000. This flared up emotions because the money was not released to the executives to spend lavishly. Subsequently another 45 million Ghana Cedis was released which landed on the laps of Abankwa, then the battle began. So aren't they seeing what Mahama is doing? Making the NDC so attractive today!" Tankweeew, Mr. Awuni, I'm glad you have also seen the magic of the young man from Bole.

That notwithstanding, the near octogenarian flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo seems to be saying Tweeaa to those livid activists by endorsing the suspension. He confirmed in a statement: "I have been apprised of the decision taken by the National Council of our great party to suspend Mr. Paul Afoko.

Having satisfied myself that due process was rigorously followed in arriving at this decision, I welcome and fully endorse it."

But more worrying is the beleaguered chairman's statement that he is still at post.

In a show of defiance, Mr. Paul Afoko, in a press statement said that his purported suspension is unconstitutional, and therefore, the decision taken by the NEC is null and void; so, he is still the National Chairman. The question many are asking is that can Afoko do foko? My answer is that time will tell. Let the music in the camp of the Elephant Family keep playing on. Kikikikikiki, enjoy Lionel Richie's "All night long."

On the eve of his departure to the three nation tour, Akufo Addo LOUDLY asked party members to work with Kwabena Agyapong. He did not mention Afoko in that briefing. Akufo Addo should not insult Ghanaians by underestimating our intelligence.
This guy accused government of unconscionably spending $10 million on diaries when he knew it was false. The same way 76,000 people trooped in from Togo to vote in Ghana yet no locally resident voter or polling agents saw strangers casting votes. Akufo Addo should do himself favour by keeping his mouth shut for the next two months.

Why is it that you and your NPP are so cantankerous? You will boycott the 2016 elections if the voters register is not revamped. And now, you are boycotting the very institution set up to work on your demands. What do you want from Ghana?

Look at what is happening in your NPP. A democratically-elected Chairman has been booted out of office by a shadowy-undetected council of octogenarian misfits. And you are sitting on the sidelines salivating.

Knowing very well that at your age, this will be your last chance to be President, and knowing very well also that your NPP has become an arena of gladiators in which war has become the natural state of men, which means you cannot win, you are employing foul means to cast shadow on the merit of the forthcoming 2016 elections.

What do you want from Ghana?

You intentionally sow seeds of discourse and under the cover of darkness run abroad to indicate you have nothing to do with it, and that, internal democratic processes should be respected. Well if you call this democracy, the devil is also right to advocate for peace.

What is the debate actually for? In so far as the EC has not answered the rot exposed by the NPP about the compromised voters register, by presenting it's evidence in the form of a petition, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to attend this debate.
Because it does not make any sense to present a petition and two months after, without having heard from the EC, you are called to attend a debate as to how to proceed with getting a credible voter roll.
What is the position of the EC with respect to the petition and the evidence presented by the NPP showing the bloated register? Is it meritorious or not? That is the question and not a debate.
Until there is clarity as to the merits or otherwise of that petition, boycott of the EC debate is an absolute must.

We should not give to these cries of these corrupt, incompetent lawyers Knows nothing except bribery and corruption on cases of Ghanaians. Since independent, these lawyers and NPP govenments have destroyed and sold all civilized Assetts which Ghanaians can be proud off. Among these assets were the railway links to Kumasi and the Cape coast Sekondi-Trakordi raiway links. Above Kufour NPP government including Nana Addo sold Ghana airways airlines as well as Ghana telecommunications to vodafones despite the fact that these assets had operated in the country more than sixty years bringing in foreign currencies to help us solve our foreign exchange. Above all the last NPP government led by Kufour including Nana Addo left the roads , streets and fly-overs in the country dusty and uncompleted despite the loan obtained from China until the late President Attah -Mills and president Mahamah NDC govenments completed them. Ghana do not need NPP government any more the should pave the way for other prospective intellectual parties including CPP and others to compete NDC to rule the country with competence, true democracy and prosperity for the country. We must not forget that "Book knowledge without good character means nothing to humanity". Long live Ghana.

I have argued several times on this forum that the solution to this voters register saga is not complicated at all if we want the ultimate truth. Folks, the NPP has alleged with evidence that the current voters roll is bloated and badly compromised with unqualified foreign nationals names fraudulently scanned onto the register. The NDC too maintains through it's communicators and surrogates that the register is also infected with the names of minors. Now what the EC must do in the name and spirit of transparency is to present the register and database for public scrutiny and auditing in an open forum for all Ghanaians and the world to see. After all the saying goes,"seeing is believing " . Now any move at this stage short of the above is a misplaced priority,diversion distraction and waste of time and resources. We demand an auditing of the true state of the register now. If that is not to happen then parties have the right to advice themselves as to what steps to take.

If NPP is sure of their evidence of an irreparably flawed voters register, they will be able to establish it even in the face of biased panelists because the good people of Ghana will be the real umpires. In that case, the panelists' bias if displayed, will become obvious for all to see. Thus the NPP does not have any reason to boycott the EC hearing.
On the other hand, the panelists are composed carefully to be able to fish out any cleverly designed evidence meant to confuse the simple mind. If the NPP is not sure of their claim and they fear the panelists are going to find them out, their boycott will be necessary to avoid shame.
Of course, they have the option to go to court as they did in 2012 even before the 2016 election.
As for going to war as some of them are threatening, it is not an option at all because this will send the NPP into extinction with their leaders starting with William Akufo Addo being arrested for trial at the International Court of Justice. The NPP should be wise to avoid any stupid move.

To be an effective politician, one must have a record of accomplishment as a leader/executive, be politically astute and able to relate well to voters and other elected officials, be a motivational team builder and inspire mutual trust and confidence, Be an excellent communicator, good at listening, speaking, and writing, be trustworthy, genuine, and sincere, be a consensus builder who appreciates and encourages differences of opinion but can forge synthesis from divergent views, and have the skills to encourage involvement and inclusiveness.

The battle of political parties, issues, and morals invites debates among the general public, nationwide over which candidate it supports in the next December election. Whether, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Convention People’s Party (CPP), People’s National Convention (PNC), or NPP, debates over the National Health Insurance Scheme, the “Kayayei Initiatives”, or the naïve free SHS politicking policy; there have always been multiple competing for the votes and minds of Ghanaians.

But what if the issues did not matter or affect the outcome of the election? Trends appear to indicate that candidates are elected not only on their positions on the economy, health care, and education, but also and largely on factors such as likability, their physical attributes their psychological and societal elements. One factor that is normally hard to estimate yet appears to be fundamental is how pleasant and physically attractive the candidate is, I do not mean that the candidate must be funny; because being funny means not being focused or serious. Likable in the sense that at the end of the way, the choice has everything to do with whom you could invite over for dinner!

Another interesting example of how big a role physical attractiveness may play in the election of a president is how taller the candidate is. This advantage may largely be based on the fact that appearance is noteworthy. Studies have demonstrated that tall politicians plainly stand out from the crowd; thus an increased height is also associated with strong leadership, dominant and confident character which are qualities that most voters would like to see in a Supreme Commander, a Head of State. In general, people vote for the most powerful looking individual who can protect them and defend the country by all means and at any time even during major crisis. Funny people are considered too vague in their policies and not serious.

A great leader has SMART goals and leads with confidence. A great leader functions in an orderly and purposeful manner in situations of uncertainty. A great leader cannot get scared when he/she goes in front of people to state the fact, including when the situation is caused by an act of God. A great leader keeps the main goals in focus. A great leader is committed to excellence. Great leaders remain calm and are tolerant. A great leader listens to the needs of the people. And I believe Ghana currently has such a great leader who is executing the agenda of the people. Funny men should stay away because this is not the time to play game. We need a great leader in Ghana to continue to lead us even in time of crisis.
