Our generation capacity already outstrips our consumption by over 500MW. What has been causing DUMSOR is the gov'ts innablity to buy enough gas and light crude oil to power the generators. You can never have the generation capacity of 5,000MW by the end of 2016. This is simply not true. Thirdly, the power crises has not been with us for almost three years. It started in February, 2012. Therefore four months from now, DUMSOR will have been with s for four years. This minister, the president and for that matter the gov't must at least show some respect to Ghanaians by telling the truth for once.

The problem with the power is not technical but financial. Even if the barges arrive and there is no money to buy more gas from Nigeria, the problem will still be there.

Ghana currently owes more than $100 million dollars to Nigeria and no one knows what this government is doing to settle that debt. The last time Nigeria threatened to cut the gas supply, Ghana went and paid only $10million and if I was Buhari, I will cut the gas supply till all the debts are settled.

We already have the capacity that can end the "dumso". The problem is that the government doesn't have the money to fuel the plants to generate the power. I don't know whether these your so call power barges you're going to use water to fuel them. These money you are using for the power barges could have completed our own kpong generation plant but for the sake of your shares you decided to ignore the kpong and go for where you chop. Our late president Nkrumah sent students to Russia for this purpose but the student had to leave the course because the CIA which masterminded the coup to overthrow Dr.Nkrumah with Afrifah and Kotoka that the Ghanaian students were there to lean how to make bomb. But to-day even UK is seeking nuclear experts from China. A word to a wise is enough.
