It is now abundantly clear that the five-member committee set up by the NDC/EC league to receive proposals from the stakeholders, study them and present its recommendation to the EC for cleaning or changing the voters' register was just a hoax.

The committee was a facade because the lady in bed with Mahama already used the forum yesterday to tell Ghanaians what she would do to rig the election for NDC without waiting for any recommendation from the committee. The lady did not only borrow the twisted logic and flawed argument of the NDC to keep the tainted and bloated voters' register, she also borrowed the very words General Mosquito has been using all along to ensure that the electoral thievery remains intact for them to steal the verdict of Ghanaians who are visibly yearning for a change.

I think the lady is abusing the phrase "independent EC", which means being free from the influence of those in power to mean the ability to behave dictatorially and help its favorite party steal verdicts fraudulently without any fear. I don't think the word independent in this case means immune from prosecution and removal from office. After all, there are channels and procedures used for the prosecution and removal of presidents, judiciary and parliamentarians from office if they commit crimes against Ghana and its people. Is our independent EC above the law?

“If Ghanaians do not want any of the options prescribed by law by which one acquires citizenship status, we could all agree and go through proper legal process to achieve that”. Charlotte Osei EC Chair.

The question that needs to be answered is, in the compilation of the voters register, were those things enumerated above that grants citizenship to a registrant ascertained conclusively, before the registrant got on the voter roll?
Such a simplistic view of how the voter register came into being, is not just disingenuous but actually takes a very myopic and mediocre view of the situation at hand, which is the compromised register and that is where the problem is.
It must be fixed. It needs to be fixed. It should be fixed to ensure free, fair, credible and transparent elections in 2016 and beyond.

Upon what evidence has Mrs Ossei concluded that the painstaking researched evidence submitted by the NPP (,although she has requested for extra information ) is premised on emotions but not on facts? The minimum that an impartial refree should do is to subject the voters roll and it's data base to a transparent public forensic auditing and scrutiny to determine if the NPP allegations are substantiated and validated or not. Without any such auditing it is not proper nor right for her to insinuate that the NPP.allegations are based on emotions.

The problematic issue about the voters register for ghanaians to defuse their doubts is that, EC should be able to execute their facts to prove the opposition party(ies) wrong about their petition .
