That the current voters register is compromised beyond measure is trite knowledge. Ghana cannot and would not go into the 2016 elections with such a flawed voters register and expect the results declared from such an election and from such a a thoroughly and irredeemably compromised voters register. It must and should be changed to ensure free, fair, transparent and credible elections in this country, in the interest of the peace and stability of this country.

Be fair and robust in dealing with the issues at hand. You job is to produce a foolproof unquestionable register. That all parties are going to have faith in. It's not going to be perfect but at least make it credible. But to arrive at a decision so quickly is very interesting. In order to be seen as fair and firm you have to make sure the register is sanitised and fit for purpose . If outside help is needed to audit the system, it must be done. Business as usual will not do.
Let it not be said that under your leadership, things were not done properly without bias for any party. History will one day judge you.

The NPP has never demanded anywhere for a so called ' perfect register' The chairwoman must be careful not to be overtly presumptuous to be falsely ascribing words and intentions to the NPP where they don't belong. The NPP has made serious allegations with some evidence about the compromised state of the current voters register which affects the very credibility of the EC as an impartial refree and institution. To regain the trust of Ghanaians ,the EC must proof the NPP wrong by opening the voters roll and it's data base to transparent auditing and scrutiny. Nothing more nothing less.

Ghanaians must be very careful about playing politics with a votes' register that has people listed as citizens of neighboring countries. I'm deeply concerned because the security situation in the sub-region is extremely volatile, with Boko Haram, Tuareg separatists and extremists in Mali, Burkina Faso, looking for s is that, safe havens from where to launch their attacks. To me, that is more important than whether one political party is advantaged or disadvantaged with the current register. Why hasn't national security investigated the claims that names and particulars of citizens of neighboring countries are on the register? This is what IMANI and other groups that are not political parties, should address; not whether the register must be cleaned or replaced. Ghanaians must be careful about the way this register issue is handled.
