  You make even bring in Jesus Christ to coach the local BS and they won't do well. Talent or lack thereof. You can't turn a Yugo car into a Hennessey Venom GT. Why will you waste his time? Make the league competitive, enforce stringent transfer policy, force the clubs into a minimum player salary nationwide and at least you are going to start improving talent. If Grant fails, as surely he will with this low-life talent at his disposal, what will the next move be?

  It is not coaching. The local players simply are not that good so as countries take CHAN more seriously, Ghana will have problems. At first other countries were not taking CHAN that seriously so Ghana was able to get lucky and make it to the final twice. Now you really have to have a solid team just to qualify.

  I am mostly surprised at the way Ghanaians talk at times. Is Afriyie saying Ghanaian coaches are not good? I disagree. The mere fact that maxwell Konadu lost a game does not make him a bad coach. I also believe that there are some ex-internationals in Ghana that can handle your local Black stars. Was it not the same konadu that got to the final at the last CHAN? When are Ghanaians going to start handling their Teams. Everybody wants immediate victories at the expense of long term plans.Avram Grant's Agent has since said he does not believe in the League and i think this is not true. Has he watched all the Teams at home and comb all the academies for talents? I am not a Ghanaian but i believe a coach who does not believe in local talents is not going to achieve so much on the job. Many of the so called foreign stars across Africa (including in my Country Nigeria) dont put in their best whilst playing for their Countries and are often greedy with their endless monetary demands. A country's Football Team should be made up of both local and foreign based Players. Ghana should learn from other nations in Africa that include Local Players as part of the national Teams:such Countries will ultimately over-take Ghana in the long run. If you dont use your local stars, how would they develop and attract the interest of foreign clubs. I am sure if it was your local coach that coached the Black stars at the last AFCON where they couldnt win the cup, the local coacxh would have been lambasted. But since it was a foreign coach, 'the black stars tried' in the estimation of most Ghanaians. A Ghanaian coach would love the Team unconditionally.

Imagine if we could allow players to stay in the premier league for four years before they are qualified for transfer, that could have solve the quality of the league many years ago.
