NDC party has never accepted that there was any mistake in the voters' register. They even said that it was the cleanest, more credible and ready for use in the 2016 elections without any reservation. Now, and after the stakeholders' overwhelming agreement that there were flaws in the register, and coupled with the proofs presented by the NPP that the register is bloated and tainted with all kinds of flaws, the NDC party has realized it can no longer cling to those malicious denials, and are now calling for cosmetic changes to be made to the register, which would still allow them to rig the elections without tears.

Few moments ago I read about this guy saying this power barge which they claim supposed to arrive on Thursday will arrive as scheduled but just after that the same person is now saying it will arrive in three weeks which makes me to strongly believe Chronicle was rather reporting the truth.

My problem is with some of these our journalists who cannot just remember something that just happened few hours ago and ask questions based on that,this guy who just lied should have been asked what about the Thursday arrival,did the barge make a U-Turn back to Turkey making it to now sail or this is a different one but they will not ask only to send us this crap.
How can something they say could take only ten days to arrive in Ghana now take three weeks,is it sailing around the world before finally arriving in Ghana?

Let us just forget it up until they bring it,enough of all these lies,this power problem is affecting most people and yet we keep playing politics with it.

"A barge with a generating capacity of 225MW can cost government about $250 million (N$303.8 million).
Minister of Finance (MoF) Calle Schlettwein confirmed that the country has been offered the option of using barges to curb the predicted demand, but he unfortunately could not mention where the offer came from.
He said the option of barges is in part one of the country’s ways of searching for other options of getting a power plant before Kudu is constructed.
This came at a time when government cancelled the Xaris Energy 250MW power plant, which was meant to curb the predicted
Electricity capacity in the region is under severe strain as Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, South Africa’s State-owned utility, struggles to meet demand in addition to the load-shedding, not to forget that the breakdowns at plants in both Zambia and Zimbabwe interrupt output.
The country will be facing a deficit because it is currently not self-sufficient. There were plans to build a 250MW power plant which was supposed to be an interim power plant before the Kudu gas power plant is constructed, which is the baseload power plant.

The 250MW power plant, whose tender was won by Xaris Energy, was cancelled by Government because it would cost the same price to construct as the Kudu gas plant. For a peak power plant to cost that much, it was believed to kill Kudu gas.

We heard earlier that the power barge was going to arrive in Ghana in two weeks, now it is three weeks. Fair, it is only one week difference so we can cope with the menacing domsor. Where my fear lies is fuel supply, and not that heavy fuel which is needed to power the badge is in short supply but our government has a culture of not paying for things they buy. The Nigerian gas is a case in point. Or are some of our officials thinking that the power badge would be fueled with sea water? As it is said in Urdu, "pesa he, tomasha deko," meaning throw the money and see the dance. In short, the government better be prepared with funds to purchase fuel for the power barge.
