This might have resulted because, Ghana has been polarized on 'Party' lines. Now, Amid of all people should know that the 'State' can do anything including breaking its own laws in the interest of its people. Hence, so much hard he is fighting Anas, it can be counter productive against him. This is because all his accusations against Anas amount to nothing if we are to go by it. The 'State' can issue a diplomatic passport to Anas or anybody for its interest, it can collaborate with Anas secretly and illegally for its interest, it can cover up anything for its interest and in these circumstances, Amidu as someone who has sworn an oath of secrecy for holding sensitive positions for the 'State' can be charged for treason or be professionally 'wasted' without anybody's intervention or any savior for what he is doing. Hence, he should thread very carefully and not to be consumed by the euphoria of the media praises. Every 'State' has got its secrets he should know.

We need an apology from judicial and even Martin being bias to defend them. Ghana judicial system has been ignoring the law of Ghana for several years. They set criminals free by collecting bribes and jailed the innocent who were poor and couldn't pay bribe. Which one is worse? The person who has exposed them, and the judicial is claiming Anas is "fraudulent" or the "fraudulent" judges who only think about money and disobey the laws of Ghana? That is a good question for Amidu to answer since he had been reported to have served under J. J.s' previous Military Regimes. If that record of his is authentic, could Amidu tell us why he served under a Government that might have been illegal? And would he want the State to prosecute him for having been part of an illegal Coup?

He may perhaps invoke the immunity granted under the Constitution for all the excesses of the previous Military interventions. But the point to draw Amidu's attention to is that there are certain minor infractions that people may have to take to expose a larger, heinous crimes that endangers the whole Nation or the lives of others. And the Public is very sensitive of that to ignore the minor infractions. Then also, many precedents of Law Enforcement Agencies breaching a law or two to bust a much worse crimes exist all over in various Democracies around the World. The Drug Enforcement Agencies in the USA, where Amidu was eager to draw some of his examples for his case against Anas, is replete with such intrusive busting of crimes where it might have to break some rules to succeed in its operations. In a World where Democratic Governments could hire private Armies to fight their Wars for them, it is often the final outcome of such seeming infraction of the Constitution that matters most: How beneficial the outcome is to the larger interest of the Nation tends to be the litmus test used.

If Amidu believes Anas has done something criminal and he does not know what to do, then one wonders what has happened to his legal brain. The other day he was saying that the judges in Anas' exposé who did not accept the bribe did wrong by not reporting the matter to the police for the bribe-givers to be arrested. This means that, he is on both sides - for Anas and against Anas. This is what bitterness does to a person. Amidu is showing signs of mental confusion resulting from a long period of bitterness.

I listened to Martin Amidu's interview he granted that led to this Article. In the Interview, Amidu sounded like he only wanted to caution Anas in a paternalistic way, even calling Anas his son. In one breath it sounded genuine. In another breath Amidu deprecated Anas and referred to him as criminal as shown in this Article.

one question that I would like to ask of Amidu is that if it was only for cautioning Anas or bringing his attention to any suspected illegal status of Tiger PI, why didn't Amidu contact Anas in private to discuss that but immediately took to the Media to trash the work Anas did and now calling him a criminal?

We must all be alert to the fact that Anas has not been charged let alone convicted of any crime yet to be labeled a criminal.

Amidu's sudden portrayal of Anas as a criminal without any established criminal case against him, or an intent to send him to face the Court is very suspicious. If Amidu thinks he has identified Anas in any crime that the latter is culpable of, let Amidu go to Court immediately to have Anas prosecuted.

So far, Amidu has only articulated his charges against Anas as the latter operating an unlicensed Company. Amidu claims some Tiger PI Media company that Anas has duly registered is not the same as the Tiger PI Anas undertook his surveillance work on the Judges with.

This just splitting hairs, and finding the least excuse to attack the investigative Journalist. Amidu even said on the interview that he did not regard Anas as a Journalist. How more antagonistic could anyone be to someone he or she claims to be father to?

If we even set aside this flabby excess of fictional endearment that Amidu attempts to enshroud his personal view of Anas in, a strictly objective consideration of the alleged crime by Anas that Amidu alleges should not have any effect on the authenticity of the work that Anas did to expose the Judges.

One other point that Anas kept harping on is his claim that it was the Executive Branch of our Government that paid Anas to do his work and that breaches the Constitution. To that, first, I would say Amidu has to present a hard proof of the Executive's order to Anas to pursue that job. Then, second, I would say Amidu is only interpreting our Constitution to suit his wishes.

Nowhere in our Constitution does it spell out that no branch of the Government can initiate an investigation of the other for a suspected crime. Therefore there is nothing illegal with the Executive ordering an investigation of the Parliament, or the Parliament ordering or initiating an investigation of the Executive, or the Judiciary doing the same to either the Parliament or the Executive.

That last contentious point related to the above that Amidu alluded to is the fact that such an investigation was offered to a private PI to undertake. Again, I do not see any illegalities with that. We have seen and had private Auditing Firms, for example, scouring the books of Government Institutions for probity and Accountability. There is no law that prohibits such a company or a Private Eye or PI from being assigned a duty to investigate some perceived crime in any branch of our Government, including the Executive itself.

So, I do not see the merit for Amidu's hounding of Anas to derail our fight of corruption in the Judiciary and elsewhere in our System.

Amidu must therefore back off from souring the Media climate with his malicious assault on Anas, or proceed to Court immediately with his allegations against him.
