There is coal clean power generation at the moment. Coal is also cheaper than gas and crude oil because it is mostly located on the surface of the earth and easy to access. In the absence of coal charcoal or wood can be used to power in a coal power generator, or even compressed sawdust.

The country should not be in rush to do something that will not be sustainable. A last longing and realistic approach should be aimed at in order to bring this devil (dumsor ) to halt. The country should look at sea technology, whereby power can be harness from to feed the growing population in Ghana and other West Africa countries. We should be looking at producing 10000MW for the country for the next 50 years where there will be efficiency.

Wereko Brobbey is just being realistic with the possibilities available to Ghana.Where is the money for the initial investment in a coal plant as being suggested by some people. We do not even have money to pay our gas bill to the Nigerians yet people are thinking of other generating plants. Many are now confused as to how to tackle Dumsor but this coal plant is no solution to our power problems now.
