Yes we need the police at every corner but the government can compliment their efforts by employing community police who can work alongside the police and be given "a little something" at the end of the month. Community policing is very crucial.
Some people do not want to come foward to volunteer information about criminals in the community because there is the fear that the police will reveal their identity and the whistle blowers who then become targets of these criminals.

The police must improve the human relations with general public if they re committed to fighting crime,the attitude of beating up peaceful demonstrators at the least provocation must stop,the public serves as a very important partner in modern policing all over the world,but in Africa the police can not be trusted as they often give our their informers for economic gains and in some cases implicate some of their victims and tag them with crimes when their actions or operations lead to deaths.This make the citizens fear to volunteer information or cooperate with the police in cases that begs for public information,the new IGP must also work to stay neutral as much as possible during next years general election as Ghanaians re losing faith with them.
