I foresee the usage of our local languae as a panacea for our developmental issues. English is our lingua franca but not many paliarmentarians could express themselves flawlessly like the native speakers and even the so called flawless speakers among them do not fully understand the technicalities in the language otherwise certain loans wouldn't be approved, measures wouldn't be taken and certain parliamentary proceedings would be avoided. Germany, China, Italy, Britain, France, Russia, Japan, South Korea etc are where they are because they use their native languages during, before and after any parliamentary proceedings. MOST GHANAIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS COULD HAVE COME OUT WITH NICE IDEAS IF A LOCAL DIALECT WAS USED ON THE FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT INSTEAD OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WHICH MOST OF THEM DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND ESPCIALLY THE LEGAL TECHNICALITIES INVOLVED.

The adage that "In the land of the blind, the one eye is King" is like what the language issue in Ghana seems to drive at. The truth is, the one eye can never survive in the land of the blind.
Assume the blind crosses a river using ropes in along a deadly cliff. They cross because they cannot see and they are used to going through that robe process over time. Logically, can the one eye and for that matter the normal sighted person cross the river? I don't think so.

Peace & Love my brothers and sisters. Think of the bigger unity issues and keep working together.
