Ghana is paying six times its total oil revenue as interest on the country’s total public debt stock; that’s the computation done by former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“We’ll reach GHC99billion by the end of this year,” the Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the biggest opposition Party said in a post-budget presentation interview with Richard Sky of Citi FM.

“The interest on this debt alone is going to be six times Ghana’s oil revenue,” Dr Bawumia said.

“When we found oil, we were happy that we found oil, but the borrowing of this Government has compromised the whole oil discovery; you need six times our oil revenue just to pay interest on the debt, not even capital, so, it is a really sad development,” he complained.

Even if you visit this forum where most of the contributors are well educated and one would expect them to live above tribalism and nepotism, the opposite is the truth. People will insult because a tribal personality has been criticized. Others do not see anything good from a particular politician because the one belongs to a particular tribe. Is it not shameful? Let someone prove me wrong. All parties are guilty of this. We have a band of educated illiterates and politicians in the country.

Telling Northerners the akans, especially the Ashantis were merely using them for menial jobs and that they were not being respected. Going after all Akan businesses and business men. The fact that he has an Ashanti wife does not negate his tribal instincts. He is undoubtedly the main and only undisputed architect of tribalism in the country.

I have followed your progression on number television program, where you appear in defense your party NDC and I can conclude they performance are always decimal, it is a fraction of point to other contributors. With performance like this, there were doubts in the mind of the body of voters in your constituency who were keenly and ready to reject you.

Enthusiastically, the people of Bolga have rejected you in a way that shows intense and eager enjoyment. Therefore, stop using tribalism as a ploy to your lost. Do not ignite the tribal sentiment in the community with your lost and let them live in peace.

At least every rational NPP supporter is aware of this with the exception of the foolish ones like you who deny it indirectly as you rather accuse Amaliba of the statement he made. You should have agreed with him publicly of the fact of his point, because this topic should not be an issue of political and tribal bigotry.

Listen Lanteye, your contribution in this forum is the only way you can get intouch with others so let your points be of reality and not hatred base because you or your child can also be a leader in the future. This is the way a nation gets problems solved but not through political bigotry that one should frustrate the facts and smartly do away with it. We do not need this village mentality of solving our national problems.

Tribalism never started with Rawlings' coming into power, and that after 1979 Rawlings' works were based on tribalism. If it was so how could he then appoint Kufour minster of Local government in 1982. Are you mad or simply in my words how old are you? And is it byforce to write when you dont have facts? Dont make yourself look like a folish village minded fellow.

A sick man like you but you rather are saying Amaliba is sick. Do you see why it is not good to abuse first? Amaliba's statement of tribal sentiments happenings is a great worry to the nation of which many foolish ones had refused to acknowledge as a reality. Do you think Ashantis will vote for a Ga man in the Ashanti region in an election?

Is it not true that Ashantis are greedy and selfish, and like to use the northerners? Do not refer to AKAN because AKAN is not a tribe that you can state that Rawlings went after all Akan businesses. If so you can state businesses that he persoanally went after.

AKAN is a word used to describe the ten 10 tribes that have similarities in their languages, but it is never a tribe so do not confuse youreslf and others. Take a lesson; those tribes are Ahanta, Akyem, Akwapim, Akwamu, Ashanti, Bono, Fanti, Kwahu, Nzema, Sefwi. Are these tribes one tribe from your intelligence if you are not a fool?

Tribalism is a thing that the Ashantis started when they wanted to go away from Ghana in the 50's. That behaviour of selfishness and greediness portrayed their wicked taste for tribalism, so how come it is Rawlings? Further I may help you with certain happenings of the past to help you understand the source of triblaism in Ghana.

Prior to the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah English was what was spoken in all areas of the nation so children could speak and write good english, thus Ghana gained the name of being an educated nation.

Post Nkrumah with the NLC taken over after the military coup in 1966 with the head of the junta General Ankrah, a Ga man, deputy head General Kotoka, an Ewe man. A year later Afrifa, an Ashanti man used junior officers namely Lieutenants S. Arthur, Moses Yeboah and Osei Poku to kill Kotoka and Ankrah so that he could become the head of state.

He succeded in killing Kotoka in 1967 while Ankrah escaped the fight the erupted at the Castle. With the failure of the coup and these officers arrested Afrifa promised them of last minute coup to rescue them, but this never happened and the guys were executed.

The following year Afrifa who was not satisfied that Ankrah was still head of the junta used a Nigerian called NZERIBE to confess that he had given Ankrah bribe therefore he Ankrah had to resign. Ankrah resigned and Afrifa declared himself the head of state in 1968 and they worked it out for Progress Party PP to win the election in 1969 with Busia the prime minster and Akuffo Addo's father being the ceremonial president while Kufour became the deputy foreign minster in the PP which is today the NPP.

It was in the era of the PP Busia's govt that TRIBALISM waked up from sleep and started to take ground by first using the Alliens complience order via the parliament to sack Alliens and started taking their properties from them. Syrians, Lenanese, Nigerians etc lost their properties as the Ashantis in particular pressed them and bought their properties at cheaper prices from them. Shame unto greedy and selfish Ashantis. The heavens know of this truth.

Ashantis are the thorns in the flesh of Ghana today. Dont you see they are bent on spoiling the education of Ghana by initiating with pressure for TWI to be spoken in schools. A Ghanaian with Germman wife residing in Ghana saw this disgracefulness that teachers are teaching pupils in TWI simply because they can not speak english, or want TWI to be spoken by force. This is tribalism.

Are this smart tribal orchestrations in the few areas I had shared with you also caused by Rawlings tribal nature. If you allow your foolish hatred for Rawlings to drive you then you will easily miss the point with your comments. Do not be silly to make comments that you are even not aware of.

These are the nation's problem at present and of the future which ought to be discussed in good faith, so that permanent solution can be found to this our tribal issues in all areas of ourlives in the nation.

People without tribal and political sentiments and are with facts will seriously describe you as a village primitive mentallity person with political and tribal bigotry, a mindset that never accepts facts yet go ahead with unfounded political fallacies which brings no unity and progress into a nation.

Have you checked records from the scholarship secretariat after Nkrumah's overthrow of the tribes that were descrimativeely given govt scholarship to study overseas during Busia PP govt and that of the Achaempong's military rule. These two governments were the major tribeal governments that practised tribalism, that people were not aware of.

While you are visibly active on radio and TV in Accra, the truth is that you still needed to campaign strongly to win. Unfortunately you probably did not do much. Isaac Adongo was permanently on the ground 24/7 campaigning. In fact that was his full-time job. I do not think if the people of Bolgatanga played a tribal card as you claim you would have come that close to the winner by votes. I am saddened that you are not doing the right thing. You should be thanking your voters for the support they gave you rather than disregard them throwing your hands in the air accusing the good people of Bolga of rooted tribalism.
