I don't know which of the states you mentioned you've visited but to USA and see how people display their cultures on specific occasions, especially the Pueto Ricans and Mexicans. I've seen video of people of Belgium, men and women parading the streets stark naked and calling it culture. Are you better than them or your father is? You are pathetic and ignorant.

  We the gas in chicago celebrated the 1st homowo in the Midwest... Chicago eddie quartey and most prominent gas organized it so well...it drew the attention of the mayor of Chicago...and from the vision of the gas. ....ghana festival originated in chicago.
  Today those doubting thomases at that time are the ones enjoying the ghana fest the most.
  If u can't organize something for ur tribe be silent and never be a "konongo kayaa" onu lo????
  Reggie tagoe thanks for the update and the good work u are doing for the ga community and ghana.
  I pray that with time...this festival will turn big like the one all the tribes are enjoying in chicago....through the vision and efforts of the ga adangbes...

  What at all have we Ghanaians gained from these cultures and traditional festivals?? Instead of us learning how to provide decent and potable drinking water and places of convenience for ourselves, we are still observing these old cultural practices and festivals that don't bring any development to us. What do these gods and spirits that we invoke during these festivals do for us?? Look at our environment, look at our rivers, they are filled with filth and the stench that comes with it; yet all these rivers are supposed to be gods and spirits. We need to think better and let common sense reign. All these cultural practices and festivals are anachronistic and they belong to history.
  They have no place in todays world; thinking and action is what brings development not cultural practices and festivals. they may bring some few economic gains but that's not enough.
  Lets do better than our forefathers.
