The tithe is money the pastors and the prophets robbed from the ignorant poor churchgoers anyway. So it's the non-spiritual thieves stealing from the spiritual thieves. The same way the thieves steals from the fetish shrines the the powerless gods such as this useless antoa nyamaa cant prevent.

Recently as the 1994 Rwandan war, both Christians/churchgoers and unbelievers ran and hid in churches while praying and relying on miracles as a last resort for protection with Jesus' picture looking unconcerned on the walls. They all along considers the church as God's home so they believed they would be saved and spared from the machetes of the war lords. Over 3000 people including innocent children and women were raped, killed, and decapitated in the churches. Similar incidences occurred during 1914 and 1945 world wars especially in Germany and most of them lost their believes in the churches.

I know how some people revere and fear this Antoa Nyama. Former President Rawlings is on record as having challenged some of his accusers to follow him to wherever Antoa Nyama was to swear over certain issues that they were accusing him of. And this river god is in Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings' ancestral home, which I visited in the early 1990s while living and working in Kumasi.

Antoa Nyama is a river god subscribed to by those who know what it is (Asantes?). I don't care a fig about it because in my own Ewe (North Tongu/Mepe area), there are gods/fetishes that inspire awe among the people. Antoa Nyama is nothing to us!!

But no matter what the situation may be, it is interesting that human beings would be so bold as to break into the "abode" of such a god to steal "its property". Was it sleeping or dead not to act? And do the thieves not fear anything?

Raiding the "abode" of Antoa Nyama and stealing its valuables casts such an act in a rather ridiculous mode. What will happen if the god itself is "stolen" one day? Can it fight its own battle instead of acting in the interest of human beings who invoke it? Or what exactly is such a "god" worth in our time?
What is the worth of such a "god" that can intervene in the affairs of human beings but cannot defend itself or its own interests? Should I say "Tweeeeaaa" here?

Truly, wonders will never cease. Antoa Nyama is on the block now!!
