Also note that the power minister and the Mahama led NDC gov't has failed in the sense that, the date they promised the barges will arrive have long passed and as it stands now, it will never be ready to produce power by 31st December. This is where the problem is and if you have a long enough memory, you will remember that the promise and failed dates for resolving this power crisis which has elapsed for an unprecedented 3 years plus in our history is a demonstration of incompetence of the highest order by NDC and Mahama and now the power minister! The arrival of this barge should not be seen as a success story for NDC. Obviously it is not their money, it is we the tax payers money, and I can promise you in the not too distant future, the corrupt practices around the purchase of this barge which is why the NDC is keen about it because they are going to share that money will surface to your surprise!!

Come to even think of it, what sense does it to spend huge sums of money to buy new equipment when all u need is a much less amount to buy crude or gas? With the additional capacity, Ghanaians will still enjoy lights in case one or two plants break down.

JD Mahama has wrong priorities. His policies and developments are in disarray, not coherent, they are scattered over the country and prioritised. If the power crisis had been given a top priority right from 2013, it would have been solved long ago. The government denied that the power crisis was due to money shortage but rather it was technical challenges. Why the denials? Even a layman knows that the scarce money spent on roads in the north of the country, for example, should have been delayed till the power crisis has been resolved. Now many businesses have closed and a lot of people have been laid off. If the government had shifted the limited resources to solve the power crisis, the ccloed businesses would have grown by now, would be paying taxes and would still be employing the people laid off. Then the taxes collected from the businesses could be used to construct the roads in the north and elsewhere in the future. Can those constructed roads pay the cost? Of course, a big NO.

NDC just realized that the power barges will not solve the Dumsor problem?

Promises galore and when it comes to the real thing, they start giving stories.

Incompetent Mahama/NDC have undermined development of Ghana in a major way.

The are not just useless but INCOMPETENT. We will kick them out like Jonathan in Nigeria.

I agree with your Mr Kwabena Donkor because there's no money to fuel other power plants,how can karpower solve the problem of dumsor when the incompetent and unintelligent president Mahama,s priority is so sponsor may weather comedian friends with the taxpayers money to foreign trips,apart from seeing mr beautiful with the president in Wa,he's with the president delegation to Finland,he sent messages saying he's in Finland and ll be going to mortar,France before coming to Ghana,so the question is does president Mahama normal and knows we ve a problem with energy?does he care about industries and their inability to produce because of dumsor?what role is mr beautiful going to play for Ghana?i think the council of state is sleeping.The clergy,Imams,civil society groups and chief can not sit down whiles the taxpayers money is being spent this way,the world is watching and above all God is watching them all.This is irresponsibility at the highest order and the high time people speak out the better for this country.
