So when did an un - disbursed public fund constitute " stolen" " missing"? Isn't this a clear case of sensationalism by the daily guide? Isn't this an alarmist propaganda to incense us against our government? The MP must be caution and told to always verify for facts before they jump and shout "Wolf". I am happy we point out inconsistencies in the administration, accounts of state and private partnership orgs with the state but to bad mouth the government isn't a good option. Mere politics wouldn't win NPP the elections but I bet ya, they can try it. I am not voting for NDC nor am I interested for NPP to come to power either, simply because they are all THIEVES.

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

This Fortiz/Merchant bank deal deal from all indications is putrid, it stinks to the high heavens and nothing can justify such an atrocious deal, when Ghanaian taxpayers, from all indications are not getting any VALUE FOR MONEY in this stinking deal. Omane Boamah, MD should seek to explain why an equity firm which cannot even boast of the asset base to even acquire a non-financial banking license, should be made to take on this onerous task of not even a merger, but a full complete acquisition of Merchant bank, when Ghanaian taxpayers, have been offered far, far better VALUE FOR MONEY propositions from identifiable bodies with a portfolio of assets eclipsing over 100 billion dollars? It is indeed mindboggling the level of impunity and recklessness which has been unleashed on the affairs on governance by this NDC gov't. Ghana indeed deserves better than this recklessness which is permeating all facets of governance in this country. It's awfully pathetic.

So to be pontificating here of their successes and availability in all spheres of Ghanaian state and civil services sectors is neither sensible nor civil of a citizen of Ghana.

one thing is for sure, and that is, they the Ewes don't cheat when they go to school, they really study, and so do the Northerners as well, they don't cheat. Others do cheat and even just travel to America and stay for some few years and then return to Ghana with fake certs and degrees that they are this and that.

Hating Ewes wouldn't help anyone, I think we should rather learn how to use their consistency of sticking to one thing and succeeding as a yard stick to improve the way we gain results as a people together. Stop insulting and be civil because with you can never be better than the Ewes I know and have met. They are smart, posh, polished and articulate in the Queens language and if it comes to faithfulness, you can trust them, unlike our other cousins…LOL!

Aren't you happy that for once someone in that House is trying to hold the government's feet to the fire on fiscal responsibility? 2016 is an election year and the NDC has already promised to keep their spending in check. What's wrong with a parliamentarian reminding the administration of the promise they made to the people only recently? If you truly love your country then you'd be interested in how each cedi is spent on your behalf. What the MP is saying is worth investigating because we're too familiar with politicians promising one thing and ending up doing another to simply ignore this timely warning. Maybe the NDC promise to be fiscally responsible in an election year was just meant to throw dust in the eyes of the public.

Go back and read the MP again. He said all students have been adimitted now and in sch for which gov released only 12 out of the 18 approved so what happened to the remaining 6. He is just asking for explanation.

An appropriation bill will be passed after the budget for 2016 has been accepted by parliament. Govt is then authorised to spend allocations in the budget. However to keep govt machinery running a provisional estimate expenditure is provided the govt by parliament. This provisional expenditure is a percentage of the actual estimate that will be captured and approved by parliament. Currently not all 1st year students have been placed in SHS. When the exercise is complete that is when the actual expenditure on fees for day students will be known and any questions arising therefrom can be asked. At this juncture would it not be too early to be concluding the way our honorable MP and other commentators have done? In any case budgets are always linked to expected income and so should revenue fall short, there is no way any institution can meet its expenditure obligations. The honorable MP has unfettered access to the Monasteries of Finance and Education and could have done some enquiries from them to enrich his contributions on the budget. That way he would have helped Ghanaians form their conclusions. Our MPs should always focus on offering good analysis of issues so together with populace, we help govts chart a course all Ghanaians want.
