I congratulate the Akatsi North District Assembly for increasing the size of their internal generated revenue. Hopefully they have thought out carefully the design and content of the software to capture all properties, due to the absence of a verifiable address system. I think this is a challenge to Akatsi South, that have the potential to raise more revenue and on par with some of the most successful district or municipal assemblies in the Volta Region.
Having said that, I want to know from Hon Gunu, if the Assembly intends to compensate my nephew, whose land the Assembly had fraudulently seized to build the assembly offices on. I want him to understand that unlike community lands that is held in trust of the people by the chief, and which can be possessed and developed for the benefit of the community, the same logic does not apply to privately owned lands. No state agency or department can dispossess a private person of his/her property without compensation. It's illegal.
The DCE is doing well keep it up.
