Sad story indeed, however this reporting can't go without mention of how badly its writen. I quote "...said that she (Janet) two months ago came to report to him that her concubine, Kwasi Asare, had been assaulting her and so she asked for divorce". (concubine,in polygamous societies) a woman who lives with a man but has lower status than his wife or wives.
By defination a man can not be a womans concubine nor ask for a divorce
as she is not legally married to him. Thanks to the writer though, he probably isn't a trained jounalist.
