Is it the case that he was paid some amount at the time of discharge but refused to collect it thinking it was too small or not enough and waited for his party to come into power so that he can resubmit and get big fat payoff? It seems this is Mahama's thank you gift to Tsatsu for defending his party and him at the Supreme Court election dispute. This little squirrel is just a clever thief. Who runs a company down, winning salt instead of focusing on the primary objective of finding oil and still gets to go home with severance pay, except red-lipped Tsatsu? Avuukoklo or ant.

If one wants to know how this matter stinks he should read what Kweku Baaku says about it: "Speaking on Joy FM’s News analysis show News File Saturday, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako stated that his investigations have established that senior executives of the of GNPC who worked during the Kufour administration were denied the same package as has been given the Mr Tsatsu Tsikata et al. “My checks indicate that senior officers who worked very hard during President Kufour’s tenure have no such benefits. Interestingly these are the people under whose watch we had the oil find.”

Tsikata is smarter than all the collective bunch of lawyers in Ghana and he is going to get a chance to prove it. If you, Oyokoba or whatever you call yourself, have any logical thought processing you would know that it was K.T. Hammond who said it first. Going after the GNPC would have been a lost cause; they are repeating what an MP with standing said would have been GNPC defense.

I only hope that the NPP would not use their silliest of silly tactics to extend this court challenge. K. T. Hammond will have to shit or get off the pot.

Mr. K.T. Hammond hates dying alone and therefore has been trying over the past weeks to denigrate others in order to acquire some sympathy for himself. He has tried all in vain to politicize the issue of the drill-ship all to no avail. Now he has created a bigger problem by touching Mr. Tsikata, the law student. I call him a law student because he is still studying law. All the rest especially those who belong to the NPP stock have stopped learning new things. Hammond has not learned where to stop the lies he is being telling. It's one simple question: Where is the US$900,000 balance from the sold drillship? This simple question has set a whole MP on merry-go-round without tackling the issue.

Now go and face Tsatsu in the High Court. This time it's the truth.nothing but the truth. So help me God. This, no lie, lie on the radio. No bribe to a judge to do gymnastic like Afenyo Markin has alleged. No crying like the way he did when he was first invited by the Judgement Debt Commission. No politics would be tolerated. One can only sue a person for defamation if and only if (I hope you understand that) an accused person makes unproven, unsubstantiated, and character assassination derogatory remarks which could dent the image of a person. I listened to K.T Hammond live myself from Asempa FM last week when Kaba granted him that interview and nothing from what he said has connotation of character assassination within its context and content. First of all, what K.T Hammond opined can be proven and substantiated from the offices of GNPC. Secondly, GNPN's own administration and board have confirmed knowledge of the check and having paid such amount to this criminal thief Ewe Tsatsu. It is up to him to sue GNPC, not K.T Hammond. His suet could only be accepted if K.T Hammond had cast aspersions on him or called him a thief or had he said Tsatsu has wrongly stollen money from GNPC. Tsatsu is a bad lawyer. He is only looking for money. The only merit of this case is if he has not received any money, they he should have asked GNPC to retract their confirmed statement. Again, he could have just asked K.T. Hammond to appear on the same Asempa fm to retract the statement and render him unqualified apology. Suing him for this simple things is below the belt of thinking.

This is the very case that Justice Abban had to wait for before ruling. If that very filling was at hand, Abban would not have been able to decide on the case as she did. You see the judiciary have this rule that if an aspect of a case a lower court is hearing is being heard at a higher court, the lower court must stay proceedings but it did not happen in Tsatsus case.

John Mahama, Ghana’s President was in the UK for three days, from the 1st to the 3rd of December 2015, purportedly to attend a meeting of some selected African heads of government with investment magnates, at Westminster. Besides the meeting with investors which occasioned his travel on the Ghana’s presidential jet to the UK, John Dramani Mahama who is desperate to retain a second term at the polls is on a quest to avail the players and architects of his first victory. As a result a crunch closed door meeting at his central London hotel with Mr Victor Smith, the Ghana high commissioner in the UK and charged him with a responsibility to secure, on his behalf, the release of Miss Nayeli Ametefe from UK prison.

In accordance with the prisoner exchange arrangements with the UK Home Office. Close aides described the crunch meeting witnessed the chief Ghanaian diplomat physically shaken by such a herculean task to secure Nayeli’s release by the end of the first quarter of 2016 as threatening to his appointment. This is believed to be a calculated move by President to take advantage of a bilateral exchange of prisoners agreement between Ghana and the United Kingdom, which has been fallow due to lack of cooperation of data on the Ghanaian side of the agreement for the convicted criminal to serve the rest of her 8 years and 4 months jail sentence in Ghana.
The British Justice Minister recently announced a move to free up prison places and in accordance with an age old Commonwealth Prisoner Exchange Treaty, the Ghanaian President is seeking to utilise this opportunity to secure the release of his government’s most expensive prisoner. It is not known whether this discussion by the President, with his high commissioner will cover all Ghanaians who have been caught flouting the UK laws, and languishing in UK jails.

It may be recalled that in September 2014, Nayeli Ametefe was arrested at the Heathrow airport by customs officers, in a daring attempt to smuggle 12 kilos of cocaine in her hand luggage. News surfaced about the access she enjoyed including official security escorts through VVIP lounge at the Ghanaian international airport including her fateful British airways Accra – London bound flight.

Miss Hannah Tetteh, the Ghana’s foreign minister made frenetic efforts to debunk the reported version of eye witnesses. This was followed by an uncharacteristic regular prison visits from Mr Victor Smith, the high commissioner himself, and a high profile team from the Ghana mission to Nayeli, where she was held on prison remand, awaiting trial, and sentencing. On 6th January, 2015, Nayeli made her first appearance in court, during which she pleaded guilty, followed with sentencing via a video link two weeks later.

During the hearing, a Ghanaian delegation was present in a peculiar mix of colours confirmed to be that of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). Nayeli Ametefe was jailed for a token 8 years and 4 months at the Isleworth Crown Court through a plea bargain. During confiscation proceedings, 6 months later, in line with the British justice system, it was surprisingly reported from the Isleworth Crown Court that the Crown Prosecution Service made no appearance, as they usually would, to push for a confiscation of property acquired by any such culprit through illegally acquired wealth. Nayeli was therefore spared all her stock of illegal wealth which is the root cause of the strained diplomatic relations.

Complicities and accomplices, aiders and abettors to the commission of the offence perpetrated by Nayeli were all let-off-the-hook, some of them, on the basis of nolle prosequi, occasioned by non-court attendance by the Ghana Attorney General Department.

According to a source at the Ghanaian presidency Miss Nayeli Ametefe who played a crucial role in the 2012 campaign to elect President John Mahama and has been a high profile courier on behalf of the official of the NDC party and its financiers thereby underscoring her numerous diplomatic identities under which she evaded capture for some time.

The big question is whether such a highly connected operative dubbed Cleopatra of the drug world with complex links within the ruling party in Ghana will see the murky walls of harsh prison environments in Ghana especially coming directly from the echelons of power?

"Ex gratia (/??ks ??re??i?/;[1] also spelled ex-gratia) is Latin for "by favour, and is most often used in a legal context.
When something has been done ex gratia, it has been done voluntarily, out of kindness or grace. In law, an ex gratia payment is a payment made without the giver recognising any liability or legal obligation".

So if this is ex gratia payments then how are these 4 terminated government paid employees special? And what is the criteria for determining amount? What about past heads of various government establishments who were terminated due to change of governments etc? Are we not opening a can of worms for all past heads to also request for some arbitrary ex gratia or whatever you want to call it payments? Let us be fair to all and not just make political decisions to please cronies.

I really wonder why some ethnocentric bigots and ignorant morons have been calling Tsatsu a thief. The case against him was that he had caused financial loss to the state, arising from the fact that he used GNPC to guarantee a loan for a cocoa plantation project, Savannah something something, owned by a white man, I suppose, in a quid pro arrangement which secured a loan for a GNPC itself. The Board claimed Tsatsu didn't seek their permission.

The company defaulted and GNPC paid the loan about $240,000 or so. The GNPC then took more equity in the farm project to compensate itself. Had that cocoa farm been sold by the Kufuor regime and the GNPC lost in the deal?? A big NOOO!!!

Tsatsu's prosecution was one of the most frivolous witch-hunting trials in Ghana's history. the man lost millions in the oil hedging or derivatives deal but since his loss was dwarfed by Sam Jonah's own derivatives losses which saw the Gold Fields losing 100s of millions of $$$s, forcing its sale, charges couldn't be brought against him on that score, and leave Jonah alone.

Kufour's day will surely come and the judges who were influenced will also have their day on this earth and then in Heaven. As I write now Kufour and the judges are paying for their evil deeds but they would not tell us. Kufour wished he could kneel down before Tsatsu, beg him to forgive him. But alas it is too late! Our fathers are Politian’s Mine is a honest man whilst the old man father was a thief and a traitor.
We all studied economics in school - I hold a doctorate degree in economics whilst the old man has 3rd grade bachelor’s degree
I have certificates but the old man has nothing to prove.

K.T Hammond was going by the GNPC documents that shows the four have been paid. Officials of GNPC came out to say that indeed it has paid the four people. If Tsatsu is suing Hammond for defamation based on falsehood, then he will lose this case. He should sue the GNPC.

Tsatsu was removed from GNPC in 2000 and reassigned to another position. If he was owed any money, why wait till this time? Let's even assume the NPP due to politics conspired against him. NDC has been in office for seven years and did not find any reason to pay him so why now?

Tsatsu cannot confuse us with not been paid of salaries and provident contributions. If he is entitled to those payments, he should be paid but this payment is termed as EX-GRATIA. Ex-Gratia is not an entitlement. Ex-Gratia is like a bonus and only should be given when you run a successful company not when you bankrupt a company like Tsatsu did to GNPC.

Tsatsu once again is trying to bully his way but in Hammond, he will realize that he has met his match.

In fact, if the prosecution had not been bungled, they should have gone to jail for all the losses they incurred on behalf of the state.

Jerry Rawlings essentially sacked Tsatsu in 2000 (NOT 2001). Therefore under those circumstances, Tsatsu did not deserve any payment from GNPC, certainly not 15 years down the line.

“The Board of Directors of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has approved the payment of ex-gratia to four former employees of the Corporation, comprising of two former Chief Executives and two Managers.

“The four and the positions at which they exited GNPC are: Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata (Chief Executive); Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye (Ag. Chief Executive); Mr. Benjamin Dagadu (Field Evaluation and Development Manager); and Ms. Esther Cobbah (Public Affairs Manager).

“The four served the Corporation for periods ranging between 12 and 21 years. They were all removed from office in 2001, under circumstances that did not allow for the payment of their respective accumulated separation entitlements,” the GNPC statement read.

A board member of the company Abraham Amaliba has, however, said that just one person among the four, has so far received his payment.

the first statement that they confirm payment is contradicted by subsequent statements that payments have been approved and only one among the four has been paid.

Folks Tsatsu is not a legal practioner ; he is a classroom professor and has never practice law anywhere. Going back to the petition case he flopped miserably. The words I put it to you is no more used in any courtroom in our modern legal practice. Everything we heard from him in the petition case was I put it to you over and over again which made the whole process boring. He was not impressive at all. He is not a practicing lawyer so those who has made him untouchable and tin god in legal circles should give us a break. He is not the only legal luminary in the country so please stop pampering him. He is a criminal and belongs to jail. He went to law school at an early age but that does not make him the best in the country. I remember a whole lawyer claiming that if he dies after hearing Tsatsu defend the petition case he is all for it. Imagine that.

IT IS THE CRIMINAL POLITICS OF GHANA THAT ALLOWED ASAMOAH BOTENG TO WITH HOLD THE REINSTATEMENT OF AN IMMIGRATION OFFICE AFTER THE COURTS HAVE ORDERED IT, IF THE GNPC OFFICIALS CONCERNED HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEIR MONEY INCLUDING EX-GRATIAS, THE GNPC OUGHT TO BE SANCTIONED.BUT POLITICS HERE MAKE ILLEGALITY OK!!

KT Hammond should not shield away from these corrupt and disgracing act, he's equally involved n liable in this. Was he nt the deputy energy minister as at then? Is he trying to say he did nt knw anything abt this payments? If yes, then he was as incompetent as a beginner n must be arrested n prosecuted in no time, n if no ,he must shut up for he was sleeping on the job as he's currently doing in parliament.
