We may be already refugees and second class citizens in our own country but that does not make deaf and blind to the truth. We know the root cause of dumsor is your Anti Akan hate agenda and because Akosombo is on Akan territory you have allowed mismanagement and neglect to practically put out of function one turbine after another. You spread propaganda and lies about some water level mixed with bullshit about the whole thing being old or obsolete forgetting that most hydro generators in the world are older than ours but still functioning. No talk of the possibility that its still possible to send these defunct turbines to Europe , North America , Japan or even Russia (NEVER TURKEY)and have them re-calibrated . Due to lack of timely maintenance from neglect and corruption blessed by the hate of the Akans politics mixed with Muslim caliphate destruction ,the turbines have all slowly spun out of axis and need to be dismantled to calibrate them , with the availability of new technology its even possible to increase the original 1000 megawatts to 1500 or even double if reverse turbines and other changes are made. Fifi Kwetey says that the Volta region is the source and world bank of the NDC , and the lands /people of the Akans the bread basket to be exploited by them. My brothers keep your cutlasses sharpened and ready as just as when the European nations tried to enslave Germany into their breadbasket so must we soon teach them a lesson so that never again will they even dream of such a crime just like in Europe today. Another case was when President Nkrumah was trying to get funding for the Akosombo Hydroelectric Dam, the Republicans were flying Dr. Busia back and forth from Britain to testify against Dr. Nkrumah, in the US Congress, who they labeled a Communist, hence, the Kennedy Administration should not fund his power plant. The Republicans used Busia, who testified so many times in the US Congress against Nkrumah, to sabotage Ghana's progress under Nkrumah, all their big leaders, J. B. Danquah, etc., etc. were involved. However, finally, President Kennedy was able to get some funding, with the help of Kaiser Engineers to build the Dam. Not long after that they help the CIA to get rid of Nkrumah, however, they are enjoying the fruits of President Nkrumah's hard work to build Ghana, which they fought against. IT IS REAL SAD!!

Can't believe what I'm reading, that power barge actually does not belong to Ghana but was rented for ten years? After ten years Ghanaians will have nothing to show for it, better still, if we are unable to keep up with payments like the Nigerian gas fiasco then potentially Karpower could come and tow their barge away just like that! As far as I know it only makes sense economically to rent over a short period of time, not a period spanning ten years! If NPP went to Turkey to try and scupper the deal they would have been well within their rights as responsible citizens of the land to stop the government engaging in irresponsible negotiations that will eventually become a financial loss to every citizen of the land. Think about it.

The UP and later PP led by Busia who won the 1969 general election and appointed Kufour as the deputy minister of foreign affairs were the selfish and wicked people who through their hatred for Nkrumah undermined him to the British and the Americans to halt the construction of the then Atomic Energy to generate Electricity for our nation's use.
The UP reported Nkrumah's govt to the Americans and the British that the Nuclear power plant at Kwabenya under construction by Nkrumah was not for electricity but for manufacturing of bombs, this therefore forced the Americans with sanctions against Nkrumah which crippled his govt financially and finally overthrown by the CIA orchestrated coup in 1966.
Today with the nation's electricity problem coming on as a thing to be used to accuse others it is the NPP that should not talk about it at all, because it is their selfish and hate politics that led to the suffering of Ghanaians of not having electricity.
In my view it is only those Ghanaians with deep tribal and political bigotry that could fail to realise the stupidity and foolishness of any comments by the NPP that someone else or any other political party could be blamed in regard to the Electricity.
It is time Ghanaians wake up from tribal and political sleep to give realistic account of their national problems circumspectly especially of the present electricity problems so that it can help them ward off unnecessary comments by foolish irresponsible political people.

We have come a long to understand some lies that was placed on the opposition at that time. We have to move and stop invoking old memories. Even if your input is right, what about today? Why can't NDC tell Ghanaians that NPP went to Nigeria and tell the government to stop supplying us with gas?
Bawumia had exposed the corruption associated with the power barge and that had incensed the ruling party. Nii, does it make sense to rent something at $1000 while you can buy the same thing for $25?
