There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

Now, something is bothering me! Whenever someone or people criticize Nana Addo or talk against him, Nana NPP "apparatus" rain insults on that particular person and call for suspension because that person did not use the internal channel. But when someone alleged any case against the other elected executives, whether true or false, the same "apparatus" rain insults on the executives and call them all sort of names instead of acknowledging the internal channel that the person could have used to layout his concerns. Is this dissimulation or what? Nana is only a human just like anyone else so since NPP think others have negative impact so as Nana because no-one is perfect. If someone has a concern about Nana's action and inaction it is only better for the party to sit and put that concerns to bed instead chancing those people out. It is true that there is a negative number but in politics there is none because every vote count. Also a good leader is the one who absorb criticism and make an adjustment but not the one runs from troubles and allow others to defend him all the time. If he keeps doing that, he will run from his own shadow. It is only best to accept concerns and kill those concerns to earn trust. That's a good leader in my opinion. Suspension on left and right will not add numbers but reduce numbers. I'M not saying insubordination should be allowed but illegal and hasty suspension is not warranted for a party claimed to be a Savior of people. That's my little token to the elephant family because they ought to be strong to put the government on its toes not by stating the obvious but by challenging government on policies. They need to let good people know what they can do differently from the current government. God bless Ghana and us all..

I am not an NPP member but I had the privilege to visit the NPP head office in February 2015, and I observed similar impression. In AGYAPONG's office, I noticed a huge portrait of ex-president KUFFOUR shaking hands with the Gen Sec affixed to the wall behind him. I am not sure if I saw Akufo-Addo's picture in display, or if I did, it was not noticeable. I questioned my friend who granted me the access to enter the office about the implications for such a behavior. I wondered if AGYAPONG was undermining the electability of Akufo-Addo's presidency. I also felt that AGYAPONG was not working in the interest of Akufo-Addo, but rather a saboteur. I therefore fully substantiate what the author wrote.
