It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

No one, not even the Ministry of Power, has come out to state what this total cost translates into in terms of unit cost of generation in US$/KWH. My own calculation tells me that the unit cost of generation for plant and maintenance cost is about US$0.065/KWH, which I believe is reasonable compared to what we are paying to other IPPs. Too much dust being thrown into our eyes.

Kwame, on the eve of Ghana's independence declared to the world: "There is a new African in the world who is capable of managing his own affairs...!"
Now, the negative side of his admonitions has come true in Ghana. Our political leaders, religious leaders, the judiciary, the clergy, the general Ghanaian fabric are totally corrupt, and engage in shameless acts of bribery, avarice, misappropriation of public funds - what with the streaming of the funds of the National Service Scheme turning round in the regions and coming back, like a boomerang, into the pockets of the corrupt originators!
With such a huge investment in gas power generator/turbines, wouldn't it be cheaper and wiser to invest in solar energy like has been done in Zimbabwe where every street light pole has its own solar panel?
