I am a tall young bared headed man. I have lost the chance of getting a grey hair through a thick cumulous wee smoke I entered during one of my nocturnal visit to a wee smoking old man whom I share a common dream with.

The wee smoke nearly marred our vision; thank God we were able to get good medical practitioner to provide us with thick lens spectacle equivalent to the bottom of Coca Cola bottle.

I have strong common characteristics with this old man and some uncommon ones too. Consider the following:

We have both lost our fathers ( Mine died peacefully whilst the old man’s father died a criminal.

Our fathers were Politician’s Mine is a honest man in a very prestigious political party whilst the old man’s father was a thief and a traitor in an extremist party.

We all studied economics in school - I hold a doctorate degree in economics whilst the old man has 3rd grade bachelor’s degree.

I have certificates and work experience but the old man has nothing to prove his academic qualification apart from being a minister of state.

The dreams of our fathers are very similar that we shall one day become head of state of Ghana.

I have good experience in money laundering which is clearly manifested during the redenomination exercise of the country currency something in common with the old man’s father. This motivated the old wee smoker to offered me a hand shake to be partners in crime to fight a course of ruling the people at all cost..

The Ganja old man is skilful in narcotics whilst I am skilful in manipulating balance sheets . After much deliberations which I will tell you later; we agreed to run on a ticket of a certain Acid party to loot big time. Since we have all dissipated the resources bequeathed to us by our parents.

I have tried my best by lying much as per the advice of the Ganja old man, I have been to the Mecca to throw a stone at the devil to pave the way for me, However during my stone throwing the devil threw a bigger stone which I had to ran away to save my dear life. The devils stone killed many. I then reviewed my strategy to visit every local mosque. Unfortunately the Ganja old man has caused a sacrilege by easing himself on the mosque “Eeeeeiiiii Opanyin Bon” I shouted Allah will punish you I said.

Little did I know that this act of sacrilege is the doom of our dreams. I am afraid of my Moslem brothers to enter the Christian church too as they have large followers . It is unfortunate that all my efforts have been in vain. I have lied and professed falsely against all credible state institutions just earn some following but all to no avail this is my last chance since I have no other job than the peanut coming from a benevolent Christian pastor. “EGYA M3KA …MEDI NKWASEAS3M” I should have listen to my father and follow his footsteps. WHO AM I ????

There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. In February this year, the NDC Government entered into a Built, Operate, Own and Transfer agreement with Ameri Energy of Dubai for the supply of 10 turbines with 230-250MW capacity of power. The total cost of the deal to Ghanaian taxpayers for the five-year period will be US$593 million, comprising of the $510 million direct cost plus a “variable charge” of $83 million ($16.6 million x 5 years). This is 16.3 per cent of the total cost of the project. Normally, a variable charge never exceeds 2 per cent of the total cost of any contract of this nature. So what explains this astronomical mark up?

These 10 GE turbines, according to industry experts, go for a total basic cost of some $220 million. This, naturally, has raised questions over the justification for the additional whopping $360 million.

The investigations, done by the two foreign journalists, first of all, confirm several suspicions raised by local observers, surrounding this deal, as well as raise questions that have not, and will not be answered by the President’s agents merely issuing statements and press releases. It calls for an open, bipartisan full-scale enquiry into it.

Then the following day, the Transparency International report was released showing Ghana as the second most corrupt country in Africa only next to SA. Then the scandals started pouring in from this dead goats' government appointees and concubines. It was really embarrassing indeed even for countries like Kenya and Nigeria doing better than Ghana!. NDC must go should be the music for all thinking Ghanaians and let the foolish ones still follow dead goat and his greedy brainless bastards.

The ultimate analysis is that of a trickle down effect.Every element of the populace is corrupt from the office of the ruling government down to the street cleaner and this has been the model from time ago with severity highest with the current government.The rank on file doing the damage and the president taking the blame.Selfish, greedy, incompetent, unpatriotic and all negative adjective individuals are elected into office and the intrinsic corruption naturally kicks in.Recently, judges who are supposed to be the referees of justice were caught accepting bribes to drop cases some involving arrested armed robbers.WHAT A SHAME!!!I do not think corruption can be totally weeded out but can be reduced if the government puts in sustained efforts and supported by the population.Some of my Americans work mates who read a lot about Africa especially Ghana keep on asking the root cause of corruption in Africa. I tell them'I do not know' ,Ghana has been documented as the most corrupt country in Africa and they use this against me especially anytime I brag about Ghana

Just because, in most cases, the crime is committed by a public official's classmate or an extended family member, or a friend's relative. No! This must be stopped at a point. IF YOU COMMIT THE CRIME, YOU MUST BE PREPARED TO DO THE PRISON TIME, WHEN CAUGHT. And also, the acquired properties from the corrupt crime, should be confiscated to the state.
