There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

Even the GRIDCO CE has come out to say that there has been no load shedding since Christmas. So what else do you want? This crisis has been long in coming more than 20 years ago and previous governments did little to solve it. Dr Donkor has done well and should be commended by all Ghanaians instead of being vilified and asked to resign. ACEP has become irrelevant because you offer the people nothing useful except to make noises and sound bites that engender fear and worry. Your sponsors should review your activities and withdraw their support.

Anybody can just wake up from his sleep and just say anything knowing nobody can hold him accountable. Folks, this is the reason behind the long delay in passing the Freedom of Information Bill which has stalled in the House for about10 years. The NDC has the majority in parliament so the blame for the deliberate delay in passing this bill into law must be laid squarely at their feet. They believe keeping the citizens in the dark works in their favor. The non-passage of this bill into law is even enough reason to kick the butt of the incompetent kleptocrats in 2016.
