I voted for NPP in the 2000 elections although I was NDC fan. the reason was the level of corruption in Rawling's admiinistration. I don't think I will vote for NPP again.

There is no doubt in my mind that Ghana is a failed state. Why do we talk about peace during election time? Why can't we solve the problems associated with electoral fraud once and for all, as most civilized nations have done? The people of Ghana are among the most dishonest in the world because they brag about having a democracy yet they become apprehensive around election time. One thing that every thinking person from Ghana knows is that Ghana is a fragile country. We may be one election cycle away from a bloody civil war because there is always a perception that elections are being rigged. In Israel, South Korea, and India no one prays for peace during elections. Why can't this problem be solved once and for all just shows how inferior we as black people are. The Ghana Supreme Court had the opportunity to order the Electoral Commission to implement some reforms. The Supreme Court indirectly held that the Electoral Commission is the final arbiter of all election disputes. An aggrieved person does not have a place to seek redress when there is electoral fraud. The Supreme Court has declared itself incapable of adjudicating electoral disputes. My fear is that Ghana is on the brink of disaster. A transparent election would solve these problems. We have had more than 20 years to get it right. Why should the political parties vehemently disagree about the voters register? Why can't we start anew and register every body who wants to vote in November? Why do we need collation centers in an age of computer and cellphone? I believe few hours after the polls have closed we should know the winner. If you think it is complicated, you need to have a psychiatrist examine your brain.

We as a people are liars, dishonest, and hypocrites, for why do we cry for peace anytime there is general election? Since 1992, every election in Ghana is riddled with accusations and counter accusations of massive rigging. When Ghana erupts into a bloody civil war, we will have no one to blame because we could have availed ourselves of every opportunity to solve the problem of electoral fraud. Even if there is no actual fraud, the perception of fraud will lead to a blood bath. You can talk about peace, peace, peace!. But should peace come at the expense of free and fair elections? I believe that the average Ghanaian is peaceful--when confronted with unequivocal evidence of his party's defeat, the average will accept the outcome. In civilized countries, people campaign and support their political parties passionately, yet they accept defeat all the time because evidence of rigging is negligible.

This is the folly of NPP. They can easily appeal to the supreme court to force the EC to open the register or even change the whole register. Per its ruling in 2012, the Supreme Court has already invalidated all the registration done with NHIS cards. Therefore if new registration cannot be done with these cards, then those registrations done with similar cards in the past are totally invalid. I can't, for the life of me understand why NPP is refusing to seek interpretation of this ruling from the Supreme Court.

Recently,Npp has contested 2 serious bye-elections in the country with the same 2012 biometric voters register.I would like to know why NPP did not boycott these 2 parliamentary elections if the register is not credible?Now coming to the 5 conerns of NPP-USA.When you state an average,it doesn't mean a minimum nor maximum rate.Anything can go beyond or below the average.2.No Togolese has been arrested or anybody from Togo has come to witness that he is a registered voter in Ghana.Unless npp can get some Togolese with Ghanaian voters ID,their allegation is bogus.3.When there is a new law today,it doesn't affect what happened yesterday.4.The Supreme Court did not ask the EC to cancel the names of those registered with whatever cards but said NHIS Cards and driver's license are no longer valid document for voter's registration.Remember that the Constitution allows people to register even without any document at all provided some 2 registered voters can give attestation.5.Npp-USA must tell us the name of the donor country who is interested to finance another brand new biometric voters register for Ghana.Happy New Year.

Ghana's peace depends essentially on the presidential candidates accepting the verdict of EC Boss. Nigeria would have been plunged into another civil war but for Jonathan who accepted the verdict of the Electoral Commissioner. All the foreign observers attested to Buhari having won the election. Jonathan did not deny it neither did he go to court but accepted the verdict.
I just hope our presidential candidates will accept the verdict of our EC Boss which, I believe, will be supported by foreign observers, instead of the political parties announcing their own verdicts. That is where the unrest starts.
