Watching the show last night:the presenters,the music and the awards served to confirm not only the poor state of Ghana soccer but the general downward trend of affairs in Ghana.
Juliet was stunning in her beautiful dress but was completely out performed by the SA presenter.Kwasi Nyantakyi was like a lost sheep not sure of what to do when ever called to join others in presenting awards.And where were our musicians?Not a single act from Ghana.Does that not confirm that our musicians remain local artist? Coming to the awards themselves.It looked like Ghana has suddenly vanished from the soccer map of Africa.Out of the many awards Ghana, a so-called power house of African soccer were conspicuous by our absence.We were nominated only thrice.Our phenomenal youth soccer did not feature any where.Well CK Gyamfi got something but for us but it is obvious that was Ghana soccer then rather than now and the future.At the end I thought we would score a "consolation goal" from
Andre Ayew but it was not meant to be.

Unfortunately CAF, Coaches and Captains in Africa has no respect for our own Afcon, hence no matter what you do, it is in abeyance. This award should rather be called European club player of the year. History tells us that is what it is? Africa, where did we go wrong?

I thought the Afcon of which Dede performed well in it, is Caf's most important event in the continent. How come a player who couldn't perform in it won the Caf award? This can let African footballers look down on the Afcon and do little with no commitment but rather regard more the European clubs and do more with more commitments there because their performance there can determine their chances of winning the Caf best player award which to me is not fair to the African continent.

They really need to change the parameters.

African leaders at every level, generally speaking, tend to resist change.

"This award should rather be called AFRICA'S European club player of the year", or "European club player of the year from AFRICA", not "CAF player of the year".
