Arthur Simpson-Kent was snapped by an airport camera as the ex-EastEnders actress, 43, and their sons Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, lay buried at their home.
The bodies were formally identified and a post-mortem examination revealed they died from head and neck injuries.
The photo from Ghana emerged as Sian’s grieving sister Ava urged Simpson-Kent to return home and “face justice”.
Breaking down in tears during a Scotland Yard appeal with mum Pansy, she said: “Unfortunately I believe Arthur was responsible. I want him to face justice and explain why. He’ll have to answer to the courts of this country – and to God, eventually.”

Telling of the family’s devastation, she said: “My brother is angry. My cousins are angry. They are angry about Sian, but the boys have devastated us. We have lost a generation. We can never replace them.”
Simpson-Kent, 48, was questioned by police at the family home in Erith, Kent, on December 16, three days after Sian and the boys were last seen by their family.

Even though it would've been easier to reject the deal as a private citizen even if for no reason other than the fact that the Western press has demonized these people and ignored their legitimate concerns, I don't, nor does any private citizen have access to the type information the authorities may have had to arrive at this decision. Also the fact the US couldn't convict these guys means they were not only guilty but innocent as well because as far as terrorism is concerned, Uncle Sam will hit you with everything he has including even hitting you below the belt in order to secure conviction. The fact that they had even been slated to be released as far back as in 2006 and 2009 respectively should tell you something more about these guys. Therefore I believe these guys don't and won't pose any threat. These guys were "captured" in circumstances and by such notorious groups as the Afghani Northern Alliance which made it more probable that they were victims in the greed to get more money from the US in the wake of 9-11. In fact try as the US did, it couldn't prove they belonged to al Qaeda or any of the militant groups opposing the US. Furthermore on geopolitical issues, even advanced and more powerful countries have been "flexible" in dealing with Uncle Sam for obvious reasons in an increasingly interdependent world. Ghana has shown it's not an exception-- at least for now. As you're aware, Uncle Sam hasn't resettled any of these guys here in the US ostensibly for security reasons but really because of something else. If you live in the US, you understand what I mean. Americans are full of contrasts. It's rather for security reasons that Uncle Sam doesn't want to resettle these guys in Arab countries because their environment lends itself easily to radicalization. Therefore any discussion as regards Ghana should be moot. Since I know Uncle Sam will ensure they don't become economic burden and the chance of these Yemenis, who weren't terrorists to begin with, becoming radicalized in the peaceful Ghanaian society is almost zero, I hope these guys who have suffered so much will once again become useful human beings and that whatever economic incentive Uncle Sam may have promised the country will be put to good use.
Let us therefore be civil in discussing this issue.

Some of us have our thinking caps in the right position, we think. We have a fair view of what is going on in the world, on daily basis.
I will not applaud a government which finds no wrong to increase petroleum prices at a time the world price of crude oil has fallen to an all time low. The Gitmo guys are simply dangerous. If anyone is not prepared to speak truthfully on any subject it will be in his interest to shut up and not say things to embarrass and wreck reputation.

I live in New York. I'm an ardent follower of news around the world. I can tell you with certainty that there is nothing like New York Times Guantanamo Docket. That's a creation of your own fertile brain and certainly part of the concerted efforts by you and your sister-publications and radio stations to sow seeds of discord in Ghana on behalf of certain groups.
The US has never been able to prove these two detainees were terrorists. And if you knew the resources the US puts in ensuring terrorists of any kind are convicted and jailed, you would understand why these detainees were not terrorists to begin with--and contrary to the nonsense you published, they were not caught in combat. I have explained the circumstances and other relevant issues in my comments elsewhere under this same topic.
"Freedom of Expression" is not a blanket provision in our Constitution to cause mischief. It also carries a lot of responsibility because you're responsible for both the intended and unintended consequences. Under some government, you could be arrested for deliberately publishing such half-truths to put the government under false light.
Let us gather all facts and be circumspect in publishing matters of this nature in future.
