Based on Gyan's analysis, then Yaya Toure should have won not Dede since he Toure led Ivory Coast to win AFCON.

Nobody can argue that Aubemeyang does not deserve to win the Africa Player. Take Dede out of Ghana team and put Aubemeyang in there and we would have won the Africa cup.

Gyan is crying crocodile tears. He doesn't really want Dede to win this to take the shine away from him.

Use lg is very very weak, and caf didn't want to cheapen, undermine themselves and dats why they chose story. Who clearly didn't do well at afcon and caf. U can't play 5afcon games and expect to win caf player of the year. Africa lacks quality materials, players etc. So if u want to win caf award. Play in a quality euro lg and concentrate on scoring goals or playing time consistency, plus trophies. Then add afcon and wcup appearance as extras and u will win afcon award.

If that is the case why Yahya Toure won in 2012,2013 when he did not win AFCON with Côte d'Ivoire. If Gyan's reasoning is anything to go by then Kosongo and Enyimba should have won in 2012 and 2013 respectively. That is why I found Toure's reaction at the awards as so stupid, arrogant and damn right foolishness.

Learn how to respect others'views, particularly the majority's. Abedi Pele Ayew won the sam CAF award 3 times and Ghana never questioned how and why Abedi won it that many times. In my view, Abedi won them because he excelled beyond doubt, hence won the majority decision or opinion. Dede has failed to win it because he hasn't excelled above the other two. May be, next year, he might win it, if he improves. And it is not a question of being a midfielder or striker. I have seen such awards go to Goalkeepers and defenders in the past.
If it national success that should determine who wins it, then the award should have gone to Yaya Toure, bccause he won the Afcon with Ivory Coast and his club is at the top 4 in the EPL. Andre Ayew and Ghana were runners up at the Afcon and Swansea is lying at the bottom 4 in the EPL. Yaya should rathere be more disappointed than Ayew.

Ghanaians should be happy for winner and hope that next time it will be a Ghanaian to win it.

Then Ghana joined & african footbal confederation (AFC) was formedn, and by the way, since we declared one of the founders of AFC (Ohene Djan) no more represe.ted us just bcoz he was associated with Nkrumah, the francophones took over. We have to endure for our priorities have always been party based and not on realities, that's why we claim to be good christians for nothing.
