Dr. Gaizie's department has the responsibility to inspect and ensure that facilities are in compliance with safety regulations. How many of these inspection have they conducted and how many facilities have they closed down for non compliance. If you have not done your job , how do you jump into other areas of operation.

Good advise to the gov't. No compensation. It's because of our own negligence tnis disasters occure.Whenever gov.t compensates too we tend to accuse it of spending too much. This should be a lesson.

There seems to be too much reliance on Government in Ghana.People have to learn to be self sufficient.
Catastrophe of this nature can be anticipated and appropriate action taken-insuring your business .The same should apply to houses,cars etc.Be wise,my people.

Yes everybody wants to make money but please not at the detriment of your life or other people's life.We got only one life to live so life is precious.The Dr educates on health,the Teacher teaches his students,the Fire officer educates on fire prevention,the police protects property and the citizenry etc.and as the old saying goes prevention is better than cure all these folks we to school to acquire knowledge in their various fields of expertise so you to pay heed to prevent most of these mishaps because it is always better to be proactive than to remain same old reactively mode.Just don' blame your in disciipline on the old lady out there in your house yes accidents do happen but 80 % or more are due to indiscipline.You expect government to continue to pay for negligence and indiscipline.Just sit back and think through this if all monies from IMF are to pay for indiscipline what will be left for the roads,hospital,water,electricity,cheap petrol,schools etc we are all always asking for I think we can do better by reorienting our old way of thinking because the old tradition has not helped us just come up with suggestions ease congestions also for your betterment.I know educating an illiterate can be challenging but must be done because life is about forward ever and backwards never.Also educate these folks about the essence of buying private insurance to for such accidents not government.Education is key.

But I'd like to take you to task as well. You pontifically lay the blame at the feet of the victims who allegedly have ignored all the fire prevention education you've provided them. Are you sure the education you provided was effective? If it was, then there probably wouldn't have been a fire; if it wasn't then you may have to share in the blame. Furthermore, as Fire Chief, you are responsible for bringing to justice, violators of fire codes. Did you do this to prevent the fire? Dereliction must be your new middle name, and ex-Fire Chief should be your new title!
