This is exactly what we should be teaching in our basic schools and even shs. ICT courses in SHS shouldnt be just introduction to Computer that they teach. Governtment need to support this idea and blend da programing aspect ...

Welldone woman. This is something i have noticed as well. After attending most education and university in Ghana i noted when i completed my MSC abroad that i lacked basic understanding of this computing skills and ability to represent categories into codes.

I stump into a company here in abroad whose job is just turning information and categorizing them into codes. This was normal for my colegues especially thoise raised abroad. With practice this widened and opened my experience with computers and programmers.

I do commend her. Its a good idea and government should support this young people

What she is doing ought to be supported by all the telecommunications companies in Ghana - as part of their CSR initiatives.

The ministry of education ought to have a PPP with her NGO - so that the work of her Ghana Code Club can be scaled-up and introduced to as many government primary and second cycle schools as is practicable.

Indeed, the future prospects of all young people in Ghana, in the internet age, depends on the kind of thinking and problem-solving that learning to code makes possible.

What Madam Appiah is doing is securing the future of Ghana. Literally. Kudos to her. I do hope she will collaborate with Zach Simms' Codecademy.
