Very sad that the church of elders and the rest of the innocent Ghanaians have not yet figured the Mahama,s agenda. First of all the president knows he will go scot free for all he has stolen due to his immune status after his term in office. Secondly he knows this is his only term and he and his 19 brothers and sisters, friends and colleagues have to gather as much wealth as possible to enjoy till kingdom come. It is therefore not a surprise that without any consultation, he accepted the millions put forth by the US and the international community to give asylum to the world most dangerous criminals without hesitation. He did it to serve his greed for money. Secondly, these guys are bomb making experts, so he can use them to train his faithful foot soldiers so he can send the squad after his enemies especially Nana Akufu Addo. In the year 2000, USA embarked on a mission to get countries to sign the famous Bilateral Immunity Agreement(BIA) or the "Non-Surrender Agreement" mafia style ...."sign & get my protection ....!NANA ADDO was the Foreign Minister at the time. The verbal promises that came along that deal were very juicy and seemed to be of special interest to Nana Addo. On the surface the agreement said u can not handover American interest (prisoner, criminal etc) to the International Criminal Court (ICC), bring to the United States instead! John Mahama on the 30th October,2003 in Parliament spoke vehemently against the signing of this agreement sighting future repercussions just like we are faced with today on the terrorists issue. Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin led minority were "defeated" by the NPP and the agreement was signed in 2003 with Hackman Owusu pending his signature for Ghana. Today the USA has used clauses in that same agreement to TRANSFER their prisoners to us and we are here blaming innocent John Mahama. One major concern John Mahama raised on the floor of parliament at the time was the fact that the agreement had no termination clause meaning you sign it for life!!! Today the Ghanaian will wake from sleep to the reality that he has a "reformed" terrorist leaving next door. Nana Addo Danquah had his Cocaine season alright but left us with an agreement that gives the USA the right to establish Guantanamo Annex in Ghana. Please Publish this and let Nana Addo and his NPP give a rebuttal or challenge me. This is the TRUTH!!!!

Ken was claiming everything the Fox News had said as the gospel truth on this incident of Ghana admitting the 2 freed Yemeni Gitmo detainees.

Meanwhile, Fox News has long been part of the political force in the USA that opposes everything that President Obama has ever tried to accomplish, including closing down the Gitmo. Left to the Fox News and its paymasters, the Gitmo would have to exist forever to help channel American Taxpayers' money into their Military-Industrial complex that led the War in Iraq and pushed for needless Wars elsewhere around the World. So, long as they have some prisoners to claim as terrorists, even if they do not fit the criteria, the Gitmo's existence could be justified for more money to be spent in sustaining it.

Fox News is bent on justifying the lies and illegal behaviors that Rumsfelt and George W. Bush unleashed upon the World to exacerbate the Mideast Conflicts, generating more terrorism around the World.

And yet that News Company has the audacity to blame President Obama for any attempt of his to bring greater Peace to all. Similarly, some of our local Opposition leaders like Ken are taking undue advantage of the situation to attack the incumbent President to score cheap political points. Instead, they should focus on issues that matter most to Ghana, which is among the least countries likely to be hurt by any radical Islam.

What is also much interesting about this incident is how it has exposed the bigotry among some of our Leaders, including our Christian Clergies.

Personally, I am not against the transfer of these Gitmo detainees. As a Christian, it is important to know the religion of Islam and what happened in history concerning the Prophet Mohammed with respect to the country Ethiopia.
The main concern here has to do with the lack of engagement, the lack of transparency, the lack of education of the citizenry on this very important issue, to build consensus and acceptance of this short-term arrangement.
As Christians there needs to be tolerance and understanding as a virtue for peaceful coexistence, and we expect the Chief Iman to teach these detainees and inculcate in them, these virtues and to shun extremism.

And by the way, how can a government with one more year in its mandate take a unilateral decision that could have terrible consequences at a time when it may not be in power? President Mahama, please rescind your decision and send them back to the States. If you are struggling to address 'dumsology,' how could you mobilise surveillance resources to monitor these two guys. Let the IGP tell parliament whether the police is capable to undertake such a humongous task and what resources will be required. Arise, Ghanaians and save your country from BAD political decisions.
