I keep saying corruption cannot end or even be reduced in Ghana and the media is a contributing group to corruption in Ghana.

If this man had not reported these criminals to the authorities to be arrested you will not hear all these negative stories about him,it is becoming a norm in the country that if a head of an institution in Ghana wants to be firm,to deal with corrupt officials they quickly ganged up against that head of the institution to cover up their dubious activities as happening in a place like Korlebu,unfortunately we have a corrupt Justice system that always free these criminals,shame on us.

Lets be frank. I know the Mahama govt is as corrupt as sin but as for these civil servants in the ISD, they make Mahama appear to be a saint.

Not too long ago, there was a Director named Barnor who was even appointed from abroad so this new guy is not the first one to be appointed from outside the Civil Service.

As for the Arcton-Tetteh guy who was the last Ag Director who has been nailed by EOCO, everyone knows he is a crook. He was thrown out of the AMA for his criminal activities before being posted to the ISD. If the ISD workers are aggrieved about his being locked up, it is probably because all of them are thieves as well.

The most important point here is that of what use is this ISD today? That Dept which can very well play an important role in the governance of this country has been reduced to an irrelevant and useless organization because of the insistence that the Director has to be a Civil Servant.

As a result, most of the Civil Servants who were appointed as Directors to the ISD in the past 20 to 30 years, did not have a clue about what was going on in the world around them. By their incompetence and their lack of understanding of issues outside the Civil Service, the focus of the ISD has been severely undermined to the point that they have become redundant to the needs of its employer - the govt.

The situation is worsened by the imposition of idiotic political heads - Ministers, who are even often worse than the management of the ISD.

I doubt if this particular govt can make a good job out of revamping the ISD. Whatever the case, any govt that wishes to do so successfully, will have to undo the entire organization by firstly removing it from the ambit of the Civil Service and giving it a new focus to realign with modern trends and aspirations.

What business has the out going director has in signing for the funds to be released if it was for genuine reasons, when the acting director was given those documents to sign, he requested for evidence which the corrupt officials refused to provide but rather went behind him to let someone whose term has expired to sign for the money to be released to them. The money was supposedly "sitting allowances " for meetings without minutes and ghost attendees.
The publisher of this article should have done a better job by investigating before putting out this piece of garbage laced with politics,if Mr Arthur hadn't been quick in detecting this fraudulent act,this same newspaper would have caption this article Mahama boy causing financial loss right?
