It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

In any civilized democratic country the Minister of Interior and the Police Chief would have left office long ago because; they failed miserably in the discharge of their duties to mother Ghana and its people.

Immediately after the violence at Talansi, NDC officials started to propagate deceitfully that it was a mob fight between NDC and NPP supporters, and the Interior Minister shamefully joined in to say that "violence begets violence". Yet, the Minister forgot that it was his duty to investigate the matter thoroughly through the security forces and tell Ghanaians who did what exactly, since arms and thumb-printed ballot papers were confiscated from some people at the crime scene.

These exhibits could have led us to the real criminals and masterminds behind the stuffing of ballot boxes and shootings at the constituency. But, our unprofessional police preferred to toe the line of those in power, and claimed that they were going to prosecute ghosts rather than follow the available leads. In the last suicide bombing at the mosque in Kuwait, the security officers identified and arrested the owner of the car that took the suicide bomber to the mosque and followed it up with arrest of the driver. From that point, the investigations led to the masterminds and accomplishes of the heinous crime.

The question is why didn't our security forces investigate the leads that could have lead us to the bigger picture, rather than gloss over them as if they confiscated the AK-47s, cutlasses and thumb-printed ballot papers from the air? Our security forces and the government including Mr. Woyongo are trying to bury the truth between Azorka boys and Bolga Bull Boys, and blindfold Ghanaians in order to cover the government's own tracks in the violence meant to steal the verdict of Ghanaians again. Ghanaians deserve better than the dirty tricks of this NDC government.

Yes, Mr Prez you're right in saying we need to raise money from the people through taxation. That's t income side of the equation a one thing that is said in finance or accounting is you can't control income. What you can control is your expenditure because that's that's within you remit. Hence, before we think about income sources, firstly, we should ensure that all revenue leakages, corruption through inflated pricing due to single sourcing during procurement, due diligence is carried out on before any financial commitment such as the AMERI deal, cut on any unnecessary expenditure such as funds spent on painting and branding buses, and other similar issues.

Using taxes as prescribed i.e. indirect taxes is a very lazy way of raising revenue. A lot of thought has to go into such issues and various simulation run.

If you want to tax those using V8 then raise the VAT on V8 and how much that have to pay for road worthy, if you want to make the person who uses trotro better off because these are the less privileged then reduce the tax (or amount paid) on road worthy on trotro and to get those not paying taxes, we need to think out of the box a bit.

By the way what is the percentage of his income that goes into taxes and the impact of that on his household? Zero. Food, petrol, utilities even his dresses are all paid for and not coming directly from his income. How then can he feel the pain of the grassroot Ghanaians. Silly leaders.

When the Ministry of Finance reduced the amount to 800 million,the EC responded/threatened to Cut the number of Polling Stations,from30,000
to 29,000 at 850 Voters per Polling Station.A simple calculations with her figures, reveals Ghana has 24,650,000
Eligible Voters out of the Country's
total Population of about 26,000,000 people.If that is not the 8th wonder of the World,what else could be!. Therefore Mr President,what Organized Labour and the general Public is Saying is that: If gov't would be Vigilant to minimize,purnish Corruptions in Gov't to Stop it,it would Reduce pressures on Taxpayers Funds,and therefore,there would not be the need of Overtaxing to Cause more hardships on the people.That is the demand of the people,Cries the Motherland.Thank you.

Ghanaians want good roads, street lights, good sewer systems, free education, good sanitation, parks and recreation centers, good transit system BUT do not want to pay taxes. Where is the money going to come from? Honestly, how many business and property owners can say they pay their business and property taxes regularly every year? In developed countries, the good social amenities they enjoy there( that we envy or rather admire) are paid for by business and property taxes on the residents. For our communities to improve(good roads, gutter, sewer systems, street lights, good schools, parks and recreation centers etc.) we have to work with the municipalities to collect taxes.It seems like we know the truth but refused to accept it. People are crying government is borrowing too much money. When prices of almost all our natural resources except cocoa are declining every day, is it difficult to see that we have a huge shortfall in revenue vs expenditure? This is not politics, it is economics 101.If anyone has money in a container somewhere the person should bring it out NOW. The country needs it to take care of her people, people of Ghana. KJG

Your government charges on average, between $7000.00 and over 10,000.00 dollars per vehicle. What do you do with all that money? God bless only the good people in Ghana.
