There was a bit of a problem between Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah back in the days.Abedi Pele thought he will be captain for life as Gyan is thinking now. There were rumours Abedi Pele did not consult the coach who had appointed Tony Yeboah as captain in Abedi's absence during Ghana-Germany friendly match in 1993.
It was rumoured Abedi Pele went straight to Tony Yeboah demanding the arm band.This created disunity and Ghana lost by 6 goals to 1 to Germany in 1993. (Young readers will not remember this).
I like Asamoah Gyan and he should continue to lead but in future if a new coach decides to give the arm band to another person,Gyan should not be offended.He doesn't own the arm band.

You're missing Komla's point, which is that Gyan should be captain as long as the coach wishes, but should be willing to respect the coach's decision in case the coach chooses someone else.
