Those so called unions have nothing good for teachers. Teachers, especially we de young teachers must advice ourselves n take part in this exercise (strike) if de government fail us in february 2016.

Teachers in Ghana are not getting meagre salary, if they were getting a meagre salary like the Government would have paid their money long ago and even paid in advance.This is just a small situation which will be addressed by ...

Their salaries will be paid and they will return to the class rooms.

I am thanking those of our colleagues who took bold decitions to come out with this idea.Please if we can create platform for information dissemination towards that aim. Teachers at their District levels who are affected by the three months policy should organise themselves and write to their District Directors of Education and also various teacher union groups in the districts. If the arrears are not paid by a time limit, we announce a strike and those affected would stop attending school.

The succinct strike by especially teacher Unions is partly due to the lack of political will by successive governments over the years.

I believe the issue cannot continue to drag thus far. It is high time government through the ministry comes out with the need policy to help curtail any future occurance.

I trust the current government to do something about the situation so that once and for all, an end shall be brought to this periodic issues of strikes, especially with teachers.

The Deputy Minister of Tertiary has constantly indicated that they are not happy when teachers go on strike. Because teachers are expected to be in the class rooms teaching. Per this i know that plans are far advanced to pay them their arrears which is only three months. Government can't be blamed for this because the cause of this arrears is born out of miscommunication between the teachers and their leaders. However government will not turn a blind eye to their demands, they will be given their arrears.
